Cold day? Great weather to watch TV! That's what your kids will say when they put on that terrible anime you've nicknamed "Screamy Yojimbo." Well, maybe you could take a nap. Oh, hang on, all the animals are snuggled under the covers. Even the fish. The FISH. And yet, your spouse won't let you touch the thermostat because one more degree will absolutely ruin their Weekend Ice Sculpture Club meeting. How could you forget that? It went up on the calendar WEEKS ago!

Grab a book and a lawn chair and sit under a magical ray of heat that raises the surrounding air temperature about 20 to 25 Fahrenheit degrees. A brisk afternoon becomes beach weather! A snowy day becomes a pleasant chill! And, best of all, you won't be trapped with all those people you can't stand, a.k.a., your family.

Just because you love them doesn't mean you have to LIKE them.
