Showers are like any other room in the house. You don't move in expecting to see the very best couch is waiting for you. You don't expect to keep the same TV for 50 years. Why assume the shower will just take care of itself? You're gonna be in there at least once a day (we hope) so spend a little time making it as cool as it can possibly be.
