Freud 20-104 1/2" 90 Degree Grooving Bit

The bit is very sharp and cut thru walnut with relative ease. However, at the very apex of the groove, it was rounded. The bit does NOT form a perfect 90 degree V cut. It also is slightly over 90----more like 92 or so. It leaves the point slightly rounded. Very disappointing when trying to mate a 90 degree trim piece in the routed cut. If your into sign making, you will probably not notice. But if your trying to glue a contrasting piece of wood into the V, (maple in my case) you WILL be disappointed. There were a few ways to fix it. 1....but a different bit from another manufacturer. 2.....sand the trim piece to a slightly rounded corner to fit. Not ideal. 3.....sand or chisel the V into a sharp 90....very time consuming. If I had to do it all over again, I would NOT purchase this particular bit from Freud. I do own several other router bits from Freid and a number of 10 inch saw blades which all cut perfectly. This one however is a loser and will find its way to the bottom of the drawer with other sub par items I've bought over the years UPDATE: I just bought a Whiteside V Groove bit and the cut was absolutely spot on 90 as the cut was verified with a machinist square. Also , the apex of the cut had NO roundness to it at all. Very crisp 90 cut.
