Works Great-For What I Wanted
By Andy in Washington on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2013
We have a hose bib at the front of our house, but I always hate to connect a hose to it. No matter what "house rules" are put in place, the hose always end up sitting out on the front sidewalk, an eyesore and a hazard. This seemed like a perfect solution- a hose that coils itself up and hides in the hostas.=== The Good Stuff ===* So far it works as advertised. There is no nozzle on the hose, so there is no pressure build up when the hose isn't in use. That seems to allow it to coil itself with a minimum of fuss. I also seldom stretch the unit out all the way, which probably makes it more likely to self-coil itself.* I don't use it for anything more than watering plants or filling up a container or two. Remember, it is a 3/8" hose, and it is almost always coiled, so there is no way you are going to get the same flow as out of a 3/4", straight hose. I'd say I get about 50% of the flow out of this hose that I get out of my regular hose.* The green blends in with the plants, so the hose hides itself nicely.* No leaks.=== The Not-So-Good Stuff ===* I would trust this hose more if it had brass fittings instead of whatever metal these are. Also a spring to keep it from kinking at the hose bib would have been a nice feature.=== Summary ===This is a great hose for what it is. It is not going to replace the usual 3/4" vinyl or rubber garden hose you now have. The hose isn't constructed as robustly, and the water flow is going to be much less. But for those places where you want a self-hiding hose, and don't need all that much water pressure or flow, it works great.

this green 25 ft and the ocean blue 25 ft Plastair Springhose at the same time, one for the front yard and one for the back. The green one is adequate and the ocean blue one is excellent. Pay the couple extra dollars and get the ocean blue one. Truly. This green one is stiff and does not extend the whole 25 ft. It does the job and recoils fine, but I very much prefer the ocean blue one as it is far more flexible and easier to use.
