Camco Camper/RV Antifreeze Hand Pump Kit
By Vaughn & Dorothy on Reviewed in the United States on September 16, 2024
The Camco Camper/RV Antifreeze Hand Pump Kit is an excellent tool for preparing your RV or camper for winter. I recently used this pump kit, and it has proven to be highly effective and user-friendly.The kit is straightforward to set up and use. The hand pump operates smoothly, allowing you to transfer antifreeze into your RV’s plumbing system with minimal effort. The pump’s design is efficient, making it easy to pump the antifreeze through the system, ensuring all the pipes are properly protected against freezing temperatures. One of the standout features is the included hose, which is long enough to reach all necessary areas and is easy to attach and detach. The clear markings on the pump help you monitor the amount of antifreeze being used, so you can ensure that you’re using the right amount. The build quality of the pump kit is solid. It feels durable and well-made, which is essential for handling the antifreeze and withstanding regular use. The kit also makes the winterizing process quick and hassle-free, saving time and effort compared to other methods.Overall, the Camco Camper/RV Antifreeze Hand Pump Kit is a highly reliable and effective tool for winterizing your RV or camper. It simplifies the process and ensures that your plumbing system is well protected against the cold. Highly recommended for its ease of use, efficiency, and durable design!

NO STARS!!!
By Dann Jorgensen on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020
System would not let me submit without selecting at least one star... Do NOT waste your money on this worthless piece of junk. Generally, I have been pleased with Camco products. This is the exception. I cannot even give it one star. When I initially opened the carton it was received in, I thought, wow, this looks and feels cheap. Once I worked the kink caused by the tight packaging out of the output hose and tried it, it did seem to have good suction, but, if you can't otherwise use it, so what! I spent more time fooling with the pump and its problems than getting my winterizing tasks done. To start with, the extension tube is about 3 inches too short. It will not reach the bottom of a jug of antifreeze. It will not stay on either; and then you are trying to fish it out of the jug. I tried to fix it with a hose clamp, but this would not work because of the combination of the taper on the pump and the slick properties of the antifreeze and vinyl. Even with the hose clamp, it would not stay together. And I tightened it as much as I dared without breaking it; considering how cheap the thing is. If it just had at least one ridge then there might be a chance for the hose to stay on with a clamp. Next, the output hose fitting on the pump does have a couple of ridges, but it has to be REALLY pressed on to stay. The real problem is on the other end of this (the output) hose. It does have a 3/4" threaded hose fitting, but this one cannot be tightened enough to get a good seal and not have antifreeze leaking all over. (What a mess!) It just spins in the vinyl hose and has a very short barrel so it is difficult to hold it from spinning. Once again I placed a hose clamp on this fitting and it did help. Altogether, it needs, at least the following improvements: a different material for the input hose and the extension tube besides plain vinyl tubing (which also was a problem in cold temperatures because the hose had no flexibility and was fixed in its curve that it had from coming off the roll); add ridges to the input nozzle of the pump to hold the extension tube on; make the extension tube at least 3 inches longer; make the output hose at least 2 feet longer; clamp (using a reusable clamp) the 3/4" adapter to the output hose; and, make the 3/4" hose adapter long enough to grasp it while tightening. Camco, please consider some of this feedback to create a quality, efficient and long-lasting product.
