Postal Mail Alert Flag

I cannot count how many trips to the mailbox I've made in my lifetime only to open the door, and see nothing inside. WELL NO MORE FOLKS!! This little flag has already made my life so much easier. When I know there's something coming in the mail for me, I anxiously await it and I used to compulsively check my mailbox. Now I'll know for sure if my letter or package has arrived and I don't have to waste a trip down my driveway! The flag was so easy to install and had clear instructions. Plus, I love that it's made in the USA. If you're unsure whether this would be truly useful or not, hesitate no longer. A minor convenience, but definitely worth it! I wish I'd found this product years ago.

We had a plastic mailbox that had the 'mail alert' feature. When I decided to spruce up the mailbox area, I ended up with a traditional metal mailbox. I looked quite a while for something that would work....saw everything from DIY items to commercial items. This caught my eye as it not gaudy and does the job nicely. It was a pretty quick install and is working perfectly. I painted a couple of the pieces white to match the mailbox so it blends better. It's perfect!

I love this. My mail can come at anytime during the day. I wanted to know when it came without walking out to it. Plus amazon packages delivered by mail may come separately from the regular mail. This device fixed that problem. I now know exactly when there is mail or a package there. My mailbox is about 2 and 1 / 2 times the size of the standard mail box so I had to make some adjustments to make it work on the larger mailbox. Once you understand how the product works it is not difficult to adjust it for the larger size. I am proud to say I only made one small fixable mistake.

I bought this for my husband. He waits impatiently for the mail everyday and has made multiple trips to the box only to find out the mail hasn't arrived yet. That's not bad in the summer, but in the winter it's a cold walk. Now we can just look out the front window and see if the mail is here. If we lived on a longer drive I think I'd put a larger bright orange flag on it to make it easier to see though. Installing it wasn't hard, just needed a view basic tools (drill, screw drivers and pliers). Our mailbox door is not flat however, so I had to add a small flat piece of wood under the flag latch to get it to fit right (see pics). Very happy with the purchase, it has saved a lot of trips to the mail box.

Flawless operation once installed. The main possible failure point is the spring, which might eventually fatigue. It seems larger and more solid than in the illustration, so I now expect it to last a long time. The rigid flag is fine for making some political statement, but winding a few loops of bright electrical or other tape (orange in my case) over it is far more visible from a distance. Since drilling the holes into the mailbox needs to be right the first time, using a temporary dab of museum putty, or maybe two-sided tape, to hold the parts in place to mark the spots to drill helps a lot. A permanent marker (e.g., Sharpie) makes a clear spot on an otherwise hard-to-mark tin box.

Great solution to letting you know when mail has been delivered. Had been using a yellow flag system that had clipped on top under closed front door, but clip weakened and broke off. This seems to be a better design.

Our mailbox sits in a row on a board with two other oversized mailboxes at the top of a drive that is uphill from the road. This item was not long or tall enough to be clearly seen from our house, so husband added a small American Flag. Our mail carrier works from a small Post Office truck and when the mailbox is opened to deposit mail, The flag pops up and I can see it from my kitchen. After my husband picks up the mail, he resets the flag. The mail carrier likes it and gets a laugh when the flag pops up. I gave it 4 stars because it had to be fine-tuned.

It came sooner than expected and seems to be very durable. I’m going to use a little longer bolts than came with it and a little loctite. I didn’t put it up yet we just had a snowstorm and it’ll be a couple days before I can do it. Looking forward to using it though
