Floodstop Individual Water

I bought the flood stop leak detector to put on the washing machine and that part of it works fine. These sensors however are just poorly made and give false alarms all the time and then corrode and stop working within a few months. They constantly give false alarms when the area is completely dry. They must either pick up the humidity from being under the washing machine, or perhaps some of the soap gets vaporized and gets on it and completes the circuit so the alarm goes off. Sometimes I'm able to wash them off with soap and water and they work fine for a while but other times they just constantly set off the alarms as soon as they are plugged in. So to stop the alarm from going off constantly, you just have to disconnect this sensor which defeats the purpose of the entire device. I reordered this thing for the third time but they are so darn expensive for such a cheap piece of equipment that doesn't last, that I don't think I'll do it again. It's going to be cheaper to buy a completely different device that works longer term than it is to keep replacing these crappy little sensors every few months.
