First Alert Smoke Alarm w/ Escape Light

Shopping for a decent smoke detector online you need to consider a lot of things. For me i had to consider price, build quality and brand reputation.I decided to buy this device for my bedroom because my previous kiddie alarm had stoped working.After doing some research i decided to get a photoelectric alarm, instead of ionization alarm becuase i learned that throughout many extensive government tests photoelectric alarms have been proven to detect many slow smouldering fires that occur in bedrooms and living rooms faster than ionization alarms (which are used in 90% of the homes in america, including mine) while ionization alarms will detect rappid spreading quickly they will take longer to detect the smoke from furniture and items that burn much slower.This product was my first choice, even seeing negative reviews of it breaking or arriving broken. if you look closely, many of the reviews that are one or two stars were written or submited 2 or 3 years ago so nobody knows what changes shippig carriers have made to protect your packages. i extremely liked the idea of the escape light too. when i first tested the product in day light it was pretty loud. The light was a big plus. knowing that if there was a fire at night i would be able to find the direction of my bedroom door while crawling through the smoke.I also noticed that this alarm eliminates almost all the false alarms. the first night i had the alarm installed i accidentily burnt some drippings from an apple pie and my house filled with burning apple juice, the alarm didnt soud once, i was a little worried so i did some more research and learned all smoke is different so i had nothing to worry abour. it makes me feel safer knowing my family wont ignore the alarm anymore durring the night.Saftey is a serious thing to any parent so knowing that i have a safe reliable smoke alarm makes me recomend this product to you and/or your family to protect your life god forbid you encounter a fire in your house.stay safe everyone !
