Nice Tool Belt
By C. Owen on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2012
This is a nice set up that allows you to remove components and use them individually or together. The two main pockets are big and are partitioned to allow you to organize your gear. The slots along the insides of the pockets will let you keep your pliers, screwdrivers and other tools pointed handle up so that they are easy to see and find. The tag on the belt says that it is manufactured by CLC which assures me that it will last for a good long while. (My old leather CLC tool bag looks rough but it is still functional after 4+ years of abuse.)The stitching looks good on all the pockets, etc. The material is thick & rigid. The Velcro along the back of the bags will stick to the belt and keep them from shifting around. The padding for the waist belt is nice and will help disperse the weight but I would still recommend a nice pair of suspenders. The belt measures 2" and the bag attachment loops measure about 2.5" so these components should work with other standard components.**UPDATE: I've been using the bags for about 9 months now and I am still happy with my purchase. While there are some design changes I would make, overall the design is good and will work with my setup. Two serious considerations about using this bag I should have seen ahead of time are size and weight.WEIGHT: This rig is heavy, especially since you have so much room to carry so many tools, you may be tempted to carry your entire toolbox with you. I would recommend a pair of suspenders to distribute the weight better onto your shoulders. Also I empty out old nails and screws as well as tools that I won't need based on the project for that day to keep the weight down. I also removed the smallest of the three bags to eliminate the weight but I have found the large two bags offer more than enough space to carry more than what I want to.SIZE: Like most side-bags, this rig is wide. You will have more room to carry stuff but I have had harder time squeezing through floor and ceiling joists than I did with smaller pouches. This bag seems to take up a ton of room if you are standing in a basket of a cherry picker or crane truck. This may not be the best consideration if you need to be nimble and squeeze in and out of spaces.**NIT-PICKY DESIGN ISSUES: Most features on this rig I love but things could be a little fine tuned to be better.I wish I could add a matching metal hammer loop to the front of the right pouch. I currently use the movable loop in the front but I sometimes wish I had the option on the bag itself so that it would not be in the way as much when bending and kneeling. As mentioned by another reviewer, I wish the tape measure pocket was on the left. If they switched the zippered pocket with the tape pocket, I could pull my tape with my left hand and mark with my right without having to either transition hands to mark or sacrifice a nail pocket on the left bag.**DESIGN FEATURES I LOVE: The dividing pockets for the hand-tools that keep your stuff organize and ready to grab by the handle. (the right side has more dividers and the left is more open for general storage)The two nail pouches on the left side allow me to have two types of fasteners separated and ready to grab with my left hand for use. For example, I can have screws in one and framing nails in the other. The zippered pouch allows me to store things that would normally bounce out of tool-bags or get lost. For example my nail-set, soap stone, drivers, and a spare pencil can all fit in the zippered pouch without me worrying about them being lost when I need them. The extra loops on the front of both bags for flat-bars and pry-bars gives them a secure home to keep them handy. The padded waistband makes the belt much more comfortable to wear for long periods of time, but is also removable if you do not like it.
