Brunch on the Balcony

We absolutely love this outdoor furniture set. We live on a high rise with a small balcony, and this fits perfectly. The table is the perfect size for brunch for two...or lunch or dinner, for that matter. I have to admit to a bit of smug satisfaction to see this nice set, compared to the ugly standard plastic sets that I see out on many other balconies. The wood is high quality and beautiful. The table folds up flat so that we can slide it right under the couch inside the door, out of sight, along with the seat cushions. The chairs fold and fit nicely in the closet. The set is sturdy (although we did put felt under one table leg, but this may be our balcony, rather than the set). I was relieved to find the seat cushions do tie down onto the chairs, which I couldn't see in the picture. The wind can be pretty stiff, and while I probably could leave the set out on the balcony, it folds up so easily that I don't feel the need to leave it out all the time. The chairs recline back and are very comfortable for lounging and reading a book. For our needs, I don't think I could have found a better purchase than this, and I'm thrilled with it. It adds to our enjoyment of the space.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I purchased this set 18 months ago. I live in very mild weather in Northern CA, on the coast, not too hot, not too cold. In the wet weather, which we have had very little of, I have put this set into storage. I oil them with 100% Tung Oil, when I first got them and then twice more since then. They are kept under a patio, and get at most a few hours of sun a day. One would think with all of that care this set would be in perfect shape -- and you would be WRONG. While the chairs are not too bad, the table is the worst. It is completely warped, I believe the table top itself is warped, which then cause the legs to be uneven, I need to put wedges/shim under the legs to get two of the feet to touch the ground. The cushions, which I take in every night, and I have scotch guarded, etc. etc. are completely faded, the fabric has not help up in the sun at all. Ridiculous that after al of that care and protection that this table/set in unusable. If you want to use this set for a single season, then use if for firewood, this would be a great value. If your expectation is to get a few seasons of use out of this set, I would HIGHLY recommend that you select something else.
