They're wonderful! They add just the right amount of ambience ...

I purchased these as cabinet/counter lights. They're wonderful! They add just the right amount of ambience and are steady lumens. Would definitely purchase again.

Good idea, a few flaws that may not matter to you

I had my kitchen redone and needed some brighter lights without having to call in an expensive electrician for the wiring. These are very bright and I liked that I can space them EXACTLY the way I needed to fit my cabinets, plus the price seemed right! A few cons: - The lights get REALLY hot only in the front, meaning I don't worry about them setting my cabinets on fire however I would be VERY careful what I put under them and if I had any small children who might touch the glass by mistake that would be a deal breaker for sure. I guess this is typical of halogen-type lights, but the comparable LED puck lights are much more expensive. I've been told these use enough energy that the LED's might be worth the extra cost, but I haven't tested that out yet. At the moment I have these under the cabinets only - I want to put them on top but I am afraid I'll have a problem with the fake plants and decorative crap I have up there, so I'm scared and probably won't end up putting them up there. - At first I couldn't make one light work. There doesn't seem to be any customer service information to get it replaced so I had to buy another set. In retrospect it was probably a connection issue from when I wired them, because eventually I had them all working. They are EASY to assemble; if you too have this problem just keep playing with them and making sure all the connections are good and I'm sure you will get it right! On the other hand I since tried to move one of the lights further down the string and now I have messed it up again and one light isn't working even after triple-checking everything I just told you to check. Good grief, why can't I ever leave well enough alone!?!?!? - The only bad thing I can think of is that they don't string together end-to-end like Christmas lights. On the other hand the box says you can put up to 30 pucks on one cord! Seems to me that would be like creating your own daylight! Hope this review helps you all make a good decision for your own space!
