PORTER-CABLE PCC650B 20V MAX* Jig Saw, Tool Only

I regret buying this entire tool line, but let me focus on the jigsaw here. The first time I used it, the cast pot metal clamp for the base broke. Customer service at P-C was great and they sent me a replacement very quickly. I don't have a lot of need for this tool so I installed the new part and threw it in a cabinet. Took it out today to finish some stop cuts in 2x4s. After about 5 minutes, it spit the blade onto the floor. I reinstalled it and a few minutes later, it spit it out again. After the third time, I put a new blade in. Same thing. I've tried different types of shanks, no difference. At this point, squeeze the trigger for a second without even touching the wood and the blade goes flying as the retention mechanism is obviously shot. All told, I probably got a total of 10 minutes of use out of this tool before it was utterly useless. I can't speak to the battery life, for obvious reasons. Went back to my corded Skil. It's 26 years old, but still actually works.
