Good Budget Commercial Keypad

Keypad arrived as described in good condition. Installation somewhat complicated but nothing our maintenance crew couldn't handle. Saved hundreds versus hiring a locksmith to install. As for the keypad itself, this is a great keypad that I have found fairly intuitive and easy to program. I now use these throughout my facility - it's a great choice for when you need to control access to a medium security area (e.g. storage space, shared office suite, etc.) on a budget. You won't be able to audit who accessed the door when, but you'll be able to provide unique access codes and change them as needed. Battery life is very good, the look is professional / industrial, and the keys have a satisfying click to them.

Worked well, until it didn't. This lock for less than a year before I could no longer close the door from the inside or out without turning the handle to engage the cylinder. Now, when I'm outside the door, I need to punch in the code, turn the handle, and pull the door shut within 10 seconds or it won't lock. The unit has a several year warranty on it, supposedly, so I called Kaba during their limited customer service hours. When I finally got a Kaba rep on the phone, they told me that it was broken for sure, but they referred me back to the company I purchased it from, which is absurd, since they are the guarantor, not the retailer.
