DEWALT 20V Max XR 5.0Ah Lithium Ion Battery

UPDATE: I was able to recover my dead battery through the "jump start" procedure, details available via Googling. In a nutshell, use another charged DeWalt battery to dump enough current into the dead battery for the charger to initiate a charge cycle. The battery is working, once again, so I bumped my review from 1 to 3 stars as I'm still irritated. Pretty sure my deep discharge was due to leaving the battery attached to my impact gun, which has electrically-driven function switches. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased Feb 2024 with a DCF900B impact wrench, for portable use away from any pneumatic compressor. Worked great a week after I bought it. I then charged it fully, and left it connected to my impact gun in my portable tool bag. I had to rebuild my truck brakes in Dec 2024, grabbed my impact gun with battery attached, pulled trigger, nothing. Charge indicator won't light. Inserted a small (1.5 AH) DeWalt 20V Max battery in my impact gun, it freewheels great. The small battery might be great in my hammer drill, but unfortunately it doesn't have the oomph required to remove lug nuts. But the impact gun works fine, otherwise. Inserted battery in DeWalt DCB107 charger, nothing happens. No LEDs, nothing. Leave battery in charger for 15 minutes, still nothing. Insert 1.5AH battery in charger, LEDs function normally, fully charge my small battery. The DeWalt 5AH is dead as a doornail. No, the impact gun trigger wasn't pushed. This battery just sucks. Hey DeWalt, THIS is why people buy cheap ass knockoff batteries! Which I will probably resort to now, so I can get my impact gun working again.
