I bought this case of chalk for a friend’s child. The price was fantastic for the amount provided—great value. It should take the little guy years—or some diligent months—to use it all up. Plus, it’s great to know his artistry won’t cause any permanent damage to his clothes or sidewalk.

what's with the smell?

purchased this S&S product before directly from that web and never had these chalk sticks contain this somewhat FOWL smell as this box. yes, the sticks are clean [no odd brown spots etc] and none are broken BUT the odor, i smelled to get better whiff thinking my imagination but ALL of the chalk sticks had same offensive odor. leary about letting the kids use them but too many in quantity to waste - and for $21 to boot. perhaps a bad batch? could be the machinery used to produce needs to be CLEANED, REFRESHED - like when cooking. the frying OIL should be changed after 2 uses, i believe, or not very pleasant food results.
