Bigger on the inside than expected and simple to program and use.

So happy I chose this safe! It was super easy to program and works great! Heavy and nicely built. The door seems a little thin but most safe doors look that way. The locking mechanism is strong and thick though and opens without any problems. The inside comes with a removable shelf and it's bigger than I expected. Fits nicely on my shelf but has plenty of space inside for storing items. I can fit 2 accordian style plastic storage folders in with no problem and still have a ton more room for other things. The folders have all my tax documents in it and are the size of a sheet of paper but a lot thicker bc each folder is filled with numerous documents. I had to fold it a little to get it past the door but barely and once it was inside, it lays on the shelf at it's full size with no problems. This safe is super roomy and durable and I feel like it will last a very long time. I feel so much more comfortable about leaving my valuables home when I'm not now that they are all safely tucked away in the safe.

Beware interior dimensions!

I got this as a replacement for a very similar item, mainly to safeguard important papers. I was mostly concerned about height since it needed to fit underneath a closet shelf (while being set upon a shelf of its own). Sadly, the interior dimension of 11 inches "W" (which is really the depth of the interior front to back) is not enough to handle my file pockets "end on" in the safe which is how they were stored in my old model. So I've had to lay them down flat instead, and put a little block of styrofoam under the bottom most one to prevent everything from sliding out when I open the door. Workable, but not ideal. Next time if there is one I'll pay more attention to the interior dimensions, though to be fair not every model I searched for listed them, just the exterior measurements!
