BLACK+DECKER 4V MAX* Screwdriver + Picture Kit

Most of power tools are Black+Decker and never had any issues with them so I have stuck with them.This screwdriver is ok in strength but you'd still have to lock it out to make sure it's fastened right.There is lots of play in the handle towards the driver and locking mechanism is plastic. This is my main complaint. I folded it like a typical drill and it literally jerked and handle locking mechanism gave away unfolding itself at the end of driving the screw. I can only keep it extended as a regular screwdriver and the locking mechanism doesn't slip but there's still plenty of play in this current position. So no drill like position with this driver.Battery life is good though I had a decent project and only 1 light was used.I really hope that I don't buy more of this quality from Black+Decker because as much as I hate to say... I will change.I don't expect them to replace the item although id really prefer it.Am I a fan boy of Black+Decker? No but I really like em for the price vs their competitors. But this one tool has me scratching my head.Edit: update 8/16/23I had initial trouble with this driver from the first use. Read up.From then to now I have used it about 3-4 times total. Gears now slip. Ok now.I own a very wide range of Black and Decker power tools. Have 11 devices in total. They have not failed. Never!!! I will not bash Black and Decker for my first defective power tool from them in 20+ years. Will I buy more other products from them? Absolutely if the price is right. Will I re-buy this item. No, unless they come out with a newer version.
