Replace Your Smoke Detectors after 8 to10 years!

My smoke detector and secure sensors all seem to have batteries go out in the middle of the night when I'm asleep. Two weeks ago the smoke detector went off with a low battery beep and nothing including Changing the battery would stop the beeps. After googling the brand i found out that after a max of 10 years the detector is no good and it will beep to let you know it needs replacement. I found this exact model on Amazon. It was an easy and quick replacement. It even came with a new battery. If your smoke detector have been around for awhile don't wait until they wake you up in the middle of the night. Start replacing them now!

Disappointed in Lifespan

I had high hopes for the BRK First Alert 9120BFF smoke detector, especially given the brand’s reputation. Installation was straightforward, and I appreciated the hardwired setup with battery backup—seemed like a solid choice for safety. It worked fine at first, but after about two years, it started beeping constantly. I changed the battery several times, but the beeping wouldn’t stop. It’s frustrating when a product designed for safety becomes a source of stress, especially when it’s waking up the whole household at night. I expected more durability from something so essential. I like the interconnected feature and the loud 85 dB alarm, but the short lifespan and persistent beeping really let me down. Only giving it 2 stars.
