Frame falling apart after only 2 uses
By maplite on Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2016
The frame is already falling apart. There are hinged pins which pop through holes as you slide each pole in to the adjacent pole to build the frame. These hinged pins rely on tension to hold not only the pins in place in the tubing. When you slide the tubes in to one another, this tension causes the pin to pop through holes in both tubes. This makes it easy for set up, but the pins in the middle bar are having a problem, most likely because they are under engineered for the larger screen width. Tonight we used it for only the second time and one of those pins in the top of the frame got pushed back in the tube, so it wouldn't click in to place. When we tipped the frame back down to take the screen off, the tube with the missing pin immediately disconnected, causing one of the verticals poles to fall to the ground. When this happened, a pole in the middle bottom frame became a hinge point and sheared off the pin. So the center which needs the most support now has no pins on top or bottom. Pretty disappointed that after only 2 uses, it is now useless, unless I pull out the duct tape. I paid way too much money for this to have to now keep a roll of duct tape in the bag.:/. The tubing is really just too thin for the size of screen. I don't have a lot of hope for any of the rest of the pins to have great longevity. I hope OEG figures out a fix. The frame is just poor quality. The screen on the other hand is very heavy duty and reflective, which could be part of the problem on an undersized frame. It projects through the screen if you want to place the projector behind, but I have heard this fact makes it less bright. The curve is nice for large group viewing. It has a nice carrying bag that holds all the poles in place so they don't get damaged and a separate bag to keep the screen in to keep it clean.
