One of the best Homekit products of 2016!

Works with Homekit and is the ONLY bridge that's Homekit compatible and works with 3rd party lights. Hue used to let you use Cree or GE Link bulbs, but they've taken that ability away. The Nanoleaf bridge/hub will allow you to add those bulbs and use them through the iOS "Home" app. If you plan on mixing and matching ZigBee bulbs from various companies, you probably are going to want the Nanoleaf. The company is going to be releasing their own color changing LED's soon, and the app even lets me change the color of my Hue bulbs. So, if you don't have a Hue bridge/hub yet -- I'd get this instead. If you already have a Hue 2.0 bridge/hub -- adding this will give you the ability to control 3rd party Zigbee bulbs.

First off, the hub is excellent. It is a ZigBee compliant hub, and I have been able to get it to recognize lights from other companies instantly. It also works very reliably with HomeKit, so turning on and off lights using a HomePod has been flawless. Well, flawless, except as concerns the lightbulbs that come with this kit. It comes with two lightbulbs, and rarely do both work at once. Invariably, when I ask Siri to turn on the pair of lights, it tells me that "there is a problem with one of your lights." I thought one had died less than a week after it had arrived, but the next day it came on again, but then the other light was off. It continues that way currently. I have found no solution. Disconnecting and reconnecting the bulbs does nothing. I am resigned to replacing the two bulbs with working bulbs, but keeping the hub, as the hub is worth the full price of the kit. Update: this hub consistently loses connection with bulbs. It is the most unreliable smart home device in my house. I hope to replace it with a more reliable hub soon.
