NOCO Boost Plus GB40 1000A Car Battery Jump Starter

I have had this jump starter for a few years and only had to use it twice. The most recent is the reason for this review. I have always maintained the charge on this jump starter except for this past year when i kind of let it slide. However, when my battery in my 2016 Ford Explorer died a couple weeks ago it was still at about a 75%charge. So I figured at WORST it's a little depleted, but it's supposed to do "up to 20 charges on a 6.0L yadda yadda". Well, it couldn't start the thing. My bro-in-law came over with his jump starter, which was some Halo brand or something, and it started right up. I can't remember what happened the first time I tried to use this thing, it's been a couple years or more. But it seems to me that it didn't work that time either. However, since I can't remember for sure I'm not holding that against it. This is mostly based directly on the situation where a different one worked, and this one didn't. Thankfully, this wasn't in the middle of winter or I'd be much more upset about it. There are some things I like about this starter which is why I give it the 3 stars. The build quality seems very good, the flashlight is handy, and the buttons and indicators on the top are easy to see and understand. It's nice that it came with a charging cable, but I think it would be useful if it had an adapter for the "cigarette lighter" in order to charge it IN the vehicle after use. Probably would make it easier to keep the battery topped off. Anyway, the number of positive reviews this product gets obviously shows that my experience is in the extreme minority. I just wanted to add my experience here without being overly critical or crass about the whole thing. Just adding to the dataset.
