Perfect!

I already have two blowers, one gas Stihl, and one battery DeWalt. They handle the big and medium jobs. But I wanted a very small one, that I could keep inside and have handy for clearing off my front porch and walkways, which are constantly cluttered with leaves and dead flowers. THIS IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION! It has plenty of power for that job. More than enough. It's very small size was a great surprise (smaller than I thought it would be). Very light, very easy to use, and of course receives my DeWalt batteries. While other reviewers warn that it can't blow enough air, I am happy with how LITTLE it blows. I can now clear my walkways and stone paths by gently nudging leaves off, instead of scattering the surrounding ground cover all over the place, which makes a bigger mess than the leaves! It has three speeds AND a variable speed trigger. The trigger is very sensitive and way more responsive than the trigger on its bigger DeWalt brother. So much better control. I can dial it down very low. Also great for clearing my garage floor and workbench without sending a cloud of dust up into the shelves and rafters. And it's small enough to hide behind the paper shredder in my office, right by the outside door. So it'll always be ready, and always be handy. VERY pleased with this purchase. Ignore the reviewers complaining that it's not the right tool for lawns and gardens, not powerful enough. Of course it's not. It wasn't designed for that. But for what it IS designed for, it excels. Also ignore the reviewers complaining about the tubes falling off. They must have thought they slip on like a vacuum cleaner attachment. That's not how they work. You slide them on and then twist them to lock them in place. They work perfectly, and fit snugly, if you install them properly. Oh, and it comes with three finer nozzle adapters, which I have yet to try, but I expect they'll be great for even finer flow control. Two thumbs up!!

OK performance, poor design.

The unit is what it is, light-weight and it burns thru a battery in about 10 mins. I use it to quickly blow off my porch. My issue, and I’m addressing this to DeWalt is the design. The intake port that sucks in air is on the left side. If you’re right-handed, and 90% of the planet is, that means as you operate it if it gets close to your pant leg it sucks up against the fabric creating a vacuum that causes the unit to stall. I have an electric corded unit (that is 10x stronger and cost half as much) and they put the intake in the bottom. I expect more from a company like DeWalt. Clearly this unit was designed and put into production without any prototype field testing. Someone drew up a plan, it looked good, and that was it. Send it. Yes, it’s a minor annoyance. But I have other DeWalt tools that frankly amazed me for their power and durability. Compact well made designs that take a beating. And this blower is not that. As a product I rate it a B- but the design is an F.
