Timer works, just not apparent at first

This water timer does work. The first time you set the frequency and run time, the thing doesn't come on. For instance, if you set the frequency to 6 hours, and run time to 20 minutes, you literally have to wait 6 hours before it first starts watering, instead of coming on right away to run for the initial 20 minutes. After you first install it, run it manually by turning the run time knob to 'On' and let it run for however long you desire. After you shut it off, set the frequency and the run time. I still gave it 5 stars in spite of this feature (or rather, design flaw). Overall, it does work as it should.

It stopped working after the first rain

It looked like a good value when it arrived, and it was relatively easy to install. However, it quit working after the first rain. I thought it might be the off-brand batteries that came with it, and when I installed the 2nd pair, it turned on but stopped immediately. I thought these batteries might be bad too, so purchased good batteries, only to find it still didn't work. Then it started to work one day out of the blue, but then stopped again, the next day and hasn't worked since. I just ordered a replacement, another brand.
