Great product design, quality, and engineering!
By Christopher McCausland on Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2017
Man, excellent products, I am really impressed with the newer Makita cordless products, even the charger has a built in fan, all batteries have level indicators, and drills have lights, and hammer, drill, or screw settings, really cool, not quite as powerful as my craftsman 19.2V but, just a fraction less so, the hammer function is not as strong as my dedicated Craftsmen hammer drills, but enough for smaller projects. Circular saw works like a champ, and everything is extremely light, my wife loves to use them, yet the quality is superb, I got it on a lightning deal and could not be happier, I have many corded and battery operated products, but this kit, mostly the drill is what I have been using for most of my home improvement projects. I bought the radio to go along with it, but was disappointed that it does not charge the batteries with DC cord plugged in,

Batteries are great! Get a brushless toolset, not this cheaped out toy set.
By C. Bruce on Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2019
I thought this set was a great value for the money on paper. In use from my experience these tools are much more for lighter use tasks. Both impact and hammer drill get extremely hot if pushed at all. Hammer drill quit with poof of smoke while drilling small hole into steel on trailer for an anchor point. I had more confidence in 14.4v ni-cad black and decker drill. Very disappointing that both will get that hot where you feel it in the handle.I didn't try makitas warranty out which it is still under due to the lack of trust i would have even if new. I don't use the tools often, maybe on a monthly or less frequency. Brushless Makita tools appear to work much better and are bringing back my faith in Makita. The reciprocating saw is ok. Does not have full adjustments as most have these days. And rubber gets diztorted and in the way where blade is inserted. Kind of annoying.Yes light is cheap as that is normal in basic sets.So i now just keep the impact inside as a powered screwdriver and have the brushless drills in garage.Coming from 24v ridgid li-ion tools-- the batteries were bad, tools and batteries bigger and heavier, tool line never expanded like they claimed. But the tools themselves were very dependable and higher quality than the items in this set.Pros of the makita set are the batteries, and the expansive tool line. Just pair the batteries with brushless tools when possible.
