Works great in my kitchen fan hood and are China cabinet”
By Steve-o on Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2018
We had 2 halogen Versions of these lights in our oven hood. I bought these hoping they would be a suitable replacement. They fit perfectly and the lighting is terrific. Just a bit whiter and brighter than the halogens. No buzzing. I tried the fan, the microwave. But these LEDs have no Flicker or buzzing. I hope they can hold up to the steam and heat. I then tried one in our China cabinet. It has a furnlite FC-505 TOUCH DIMMER 3 STAGE DIMMER ( sorry for the uppercase. That’s how it was listed on the website). It is a three stage “touch” dimmer. That’s were you touch a hinge on the cabinet and it cycles through high medium and low light. To my surprise, the Amazon basics light dimmed perfectly. Again, no flickering or buzzing. I bought the “bright white” lights. I attached a picture of how they look in the range hood.

Good, but not for Insteon and have steps in brightness, rather than being completely dimmable
By James Mackenzie on Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2019
I'd like to replace our long hallway's set of recessed ceiling bulbs with longer-lasting and more energy-efficient LEDs. They're on a motion sensor and programmed to illuminate at only 10% late at light - enough to guide without blinding. These bulbs won't serve that purpose. They're described as dimmable, but go up and down in distinct steps, with the dimmest setting still being far too bright. And, like some other LEDs, they're not compatible with Insteon home automation: so once they're on, they just stay on all night, movement or not. These particular limitations aside, their light is bright, and only a little colder than a halogen - and the bulbs feel solid and well made. It would be nice to have some standardized descriptive language for whether a light is completely variable, or if it has 4 or 5 steps of brightness. Home automation controllers like Insteon may still be too niche to justify incompatibility warnings, so I won't ding them for that (but hope this helps other Insteon owners).
