works very well but one of the plugs stopped working in 8 months

these are very good. worked perfectly for controlling a Christmas tree, side lamps, AC , and table lamps. Very easy to programs if you mix with another set of the same model. Only problem is that one of the plugs died in 8 months.

Update: remote suddenly “failing” (it’s not the remote)

UPDATE: many people experience the remote suddenly failing to work. My remote finally started showing this behavior a year after my purchase. But I do know what is happening: This happens in the winter or perhaps in a well air conditioned home. The battery gets cold, the juice solidifies and the remote fails to catch a signal. There are three remedies: 1). Hold the remote on a warm part of your body (I tuck it under the back of my knee and tuck in my leg), 2) Take a blow dryer to the remote or 3) Remove the battery and roll it swiftly between your palms to heat it up. This takes about 30 seconds, as does the blow dryer. The first suggestion takes longer. This occurs with many models and it is not the remote that is broke, it is the battery that is too cold. Interesting point: look at the reviews that complain about the remote stopping suddenly, and check out the date of their review. 🙂 They are all in cold months. Other than frigid batteries, this is a very reliable device. Enjoy! OLDER REVIEW: I had a trio of remote outlets I bought back about five years ago for the Christmas tree. They finally gave out on me, but it might be battery related. Either way, I bought new batteries and also bought new remote plugs; this one has five. The buttons on the remote controls are labeled and the plugs (1-3, anyway) work well. The only issue I have is the older plugs I had allowed me to plug my lamps in the side. These only offer a receptacle on the front, making the plug jet out, making it difficult to tuck the cords away. It has a good range. I went clear over to the front of my house to turn on the lamp in the back room, and it easily turned on the lamp through the walls and any other crud I have, taking up space and blocking the plug. This means when I do get my tree up, I can turn the tree lights on and off from my seat. It comes with two remotes. The plugs come with a button on the side to activate the plug. You plug one plug in each device, and both remotes immediately work. No need to sync or pair the remote with the outlet the way you would with Bluetooth. Of course, with two remotes, someone else can have control of your devices. If you’re a control freak, good luck with that! But I like to think of it as having an extra remote to replace one that will no doubt get lost some day. The only way I could handle the previously lost remote issue with the set that only came with one remote, was to turn the lights on and off manually. When I had the lights on, I shifted in my seat and the light suddenly turned off. I found the remote beside my recliner cushion. Then I added a key ring to it and hung it on my metal desk lamp that’s holding all sorts of magnetic gizmos. And in mentioning that, I should add that I glued a small powerful magnet to one of the remotes of these outlets and it easily sticks to the metal lamp, replacing the previous remote. I do like these remote controlled outlets, even with the front-facing receptacles, which is nothing more than a mild nuisance. I am considering buying another set, but I do want to try to get my older set working first. No sense in wasting something that could be repaired. I do recommend these. If I have any issues with this set, I will be certain to update my review. But I will also update to mention any feature I discover that suddenly impresses me.

We have a large great room with built in covey holes in the wall surrounding our TV plus the very top which is 14 feet up had a ledge where we string lights and ceramics together. We need to control each of these areas independently because the wall outlets are located in each area and are always live. I had several remotes which I used and over time one switch would die and I would buy another set. I finally got fed up with having a stack of remotes and bought this package. Now I have one remote controlling a dozen lighted fixtures. They work flawlessly so far so I would highly recommend this for convenience and quality.
A good product at an affordable price.

Easy to install and it sure makes it convenient and much easier to turn on/off multiple lights around the house with the touch of a remote control. Great value with the number of outlets and extra remote.

I bought this product to work with the 4FT LED Shop Lights I ordered for my basement. I decided to upgrade my basement fluorescent lights to these LED fixtures when they went on sale before the holidays. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XGBKDKZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 I ran across reviews for this product by people who used a wireless remote control outlet system with the lights. And I want to thank them for giving me the heads up, because I tried it and it worked perfectly for me! I ordered 2 sets of the LED fixtures to total 8 and added the BN-LINK ES1513-5-2 Wireless Remote Control Outlet with Extra Long Range (5 Pack) to work with them. I had to add some socket adapters and some multiple outlet splitters here and there to make it work. But it did work, and like a charm! I now have clear beautiful bright light throughout my basement, and I can see what I'm doing! I mounted one of the remotes in a holder at the bottom of the basement stairs and the 2nd across the basement over the workbench. The range on the remotes is great! I have the basement set up in 4 wireless LED light task zones at present, and will add a 5th down the road when I set up a laundry sorting center. I'm still finessing the system, seeing if it does the job, and will have to spend some time stapling cords down along the beams and floor joists, but all in all I couldn't be happier with the end result. It's like having your entire basement lighting upgraded at a fraction of what it would cost to have an electrician do it. Some people would prefer to have the motion sensitive version of the lights and just not have to worry about it. But I've tried motion detectors before, and found them too annoying. They tend to turn off when I'm in the middle of something, and no amount of fussing with the settings made it right. I'm much happier with this wireless remote control outlet system.

So simple it's genius. Everything about these is perfect. You've got separate switches for on/off, so you don't have to wonder if you switched on a lamp that was already off (because you're in the bedroom & it's in the living room). Two remotes, you can have one upstairs, one down. A myriad of uses, fans to cool you off during the night, and then switch off. Also computer printers, lava lamps, white noise machines. And lamps, of course. It's better than the Clapper.
So convient !

I used to have an Alexa with smart plugs that I would use to turn the lights on and off. However when I went to college, the University wifi did not support these kinds of devices and it was really annoying to turn lights on and off. I bought these because they are relatively cheap given that you receive 5 plugs. I am so so happy with these things and recently bought another set to keep in a different room of my apartment. Things I like: I loooove that these come with two remotes. I used a velcro command strip to hang one remote next to my light switch so I can turn lights on when I enter the room. I keep the other one near my bed. I have a bunk bed so it's nice that I can climb into bed with the lights on and then turn the lights off once I'm settled. Aside getting to turn the lights off from bed, these are also convient for turning things on/off in awkward spots. I have a string of lights above the cabinets in my kitchen. The switch for these is also on top of the cabinets so it's really nice to turn these on without having to climb on to my counter top. The plugs have a a gentle 'clicking' sound when it turns on or off. This is helpful for things other than lights or things you can't see. Sometimes I turn stuff off from another room and might not be able to see if it actually turned off. However, if I hear the click, then I know it turned off. This brings up another plus which is that the signal is pretty good. I don't have to be near the switches or point the remote at them to get them to work. I am not sure what the maximum distance between plug and remote is, but they work from one end of my apartment, through walls and all, which is about 40 feet. These things are crazy easy to install. As long as the remotes have their battery (the set comes with two batteries, one for each remote), they instantly connect with their plugs. You don't have to do any calibration whatsoever. You can take the plugs out of the box and immediately start using them. Also, as I mentioned I have two sets of these plugs. There is no remote interface from one room to another. Even if I move the remotes around the apartment, the remotes ONLY work with their designated set. Potential downsides: These plugs do not work with touch-dim lamps. The plug can turn the lamp off but the lamp will not turn on with the plug. The only way to turn the lamp on, is to use the touch-dim button. I'm not sure why this is but beware that these plugs work best with very generic on-off devices. The remotes are kinda small so they can get lost easily. However the distance between each button is pretty good so despite it's small size, you won't have issues clicking multiple buttons at once. Another potential downside about the buttons is that each plug has two sets of buttons- one to turn them on and one to turn them off. When I first saw this design I was kind of annoyed that there was two buttons when there could just be one for each plug. However I have come to really like this. When I leave a room, I don't have to think about which plugs are on and turn just those off, I can simply just swipe my thumb across all the 'off' buttons and make sure everything is off. Another potential downside is the battery. Each remote uses 1 23A battery. Since this is not a common battery, it is kind of annoying to find and buy to replace in the remote. But I don't mind this too much. I have had my first set of plugs for a year and a half already and have only needed to replace one battery in one remote so far. These batteries are also pretty cheap to buy off of Amazon so it's not too bad. Lastly, the plugs are a bit chunky. Sometimes I cannot use them on the same outlet as other devices because they take up so much space. They are also a bit thick so they do not work super well behind furniture-- like if you put a couch up against the wall it is on. I think that is helpful to think about where you will be plugging these in before you buy them.

LOVE these for my classroom! I have all of my lamps around the room plugged into them. You know, because “every minute matters” 😉 The only downfall is that they are pretty big, so they make it hard to plug another 3 prong item into the other outlet. Would 100% buy again though!
