Compact, Attractive, and functional.

I had been looking to get a portable gas fire pit to take with us on camping trips so I would not need to carry (illegal in some locations) wood or purchase it at an exorbitant rate at the campground. Assembly was less complicated than the instructions indicated as some parts were already assembled. It did not take long to assemble this and test it. I advise checking all connections for tightness. The hose attachment had a small leak which was fixed by tightening the connection. The flame is adjustable. On low, it puuts out a nice amount of heat and should be attractive to sit around on a warm summer evening. On high, it can put out a lot of heat at the cost of higher propane use. One does have the ability to ajust the level to one's own choosing. I had considered a Camco Little Red Campfire but purchased this instead because it is also relatively compact and because it is much less expensive. I just need to get a carrying bag for it to protect it while traveling. I think it will be durable if I take care not to leave it out in the weather when it is not being used.

Terrible construction unstable, dangerous design
By Just call me G on Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2024
I bought this fire pit 2 years ago and wish I would have returned it but because it is a larger item and harder to return I did not. The collapsible legs do not lock into place when you open them, meaning if you touch it on one side it will collapse on the other spewing hot rocks and flames everywhere. I’ve had to place it on top of a metal stool that has slots for two of the legs to stabilize it. I thought it was just a bad design or I was doing something wrong but a couple people looked at it and noticed the legs are put together wrong. The springs are partially sticking out on three of the legs in a place they should not be making it impossible for the leg to lock into place when opened and the 4th is altogether assembled incorrectly so the parts don’t quite match up to lock into place open either. The only time any of them lock into place is when closed. After investigating this again and trying to move the lock into place on the one leg that had the spring installed correctly but the button that does not line up to click into place, the leg popped off. It has been stored in a shed when not in use so it is in perfect condition, meaning the leg was not rusted or weathered at all it was just barely attached if it popped off that easily. So now I can’t even use the fire pit no matter what I put it on. Terrible design and construction, a complete waste of money. Additionally every time I light it the pilot generally does not work so I have to use a lighter and when it does light there is a flame ball that shoots out a foot or so from the fire pit on all sides. Once lit the flame is decent but you will have to buy more lava rocks for a more even flame and heat.
