Top positive review
Heavy and sturdy

Not so easy to put together , need at least two people to lift heavy splitter onto frame. First time using a log splitter and pleasantly surprised how easy it was to use and how well it worked on the sturdy frame. Machine already comes with hydraulic fluid so once it’s put together and you loosen the hydraulic screw it’s ready to start splitting logs. Would definitely recommend getting a splitter with a high frame as this one is. Easy to move on a flat surface but because of the heavy weight can see how moving this around in the yard can be difficult.

Plug caught fire...RAM sticks...but...it does work pretty good
By Rhodie1 on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2022
The first thing I'll say about this log splitter is that it's damn heavy...so be prepared for that...over 100 pounds...the wheels on it aren't that usable except at a certain angle for pulling along...if your tall...be prepared to bend over. The one major thing that's happened to this splitter is that plug end caught fire. I noticed after the first time I used it...going into the 2nd time..when I plugged it in and started to use it it was "hiccuping". I looked down and the plug was smoking. I immediately unplugged it and noticed the plug ends were burnt. Looked inside my Ridgid construction grade 12awg extension cord and no damage at all. Looked at the plug ends and they are not the greatest metal for a high amperage device to be using. Should have been thicker/better metal...brass etc...this thing is just not a great plug end. I decided since I needed to get the chord of wood I was doing..done...I just went ahead and ordered a new plug end. I got the Journeyman-Pro 515PV....cut the old one off and installed the new one...no issues since...far superior quality. I disected the plug end itself and could see no real issue attributed to the wiring. Just that metal used for the prongs is just low grade junk. Bad move WEN. Since the plug end issue... I've noticed that the RAM only goes back about 95%...about an inch left and I have to push it the rest of the way in. The splitter does a good job for what it's suppose to do but this one is perplexing. I always undo the little screw to let the piston breathe...and screw it back in when I stop using it. They're seems to be enough fluid in the tank..so I don't know what's caused this to happen...there's no saw dust blocking the 2 plastic glide inserts on top and bottom. Even with these 2 issues...it still works..I have no other complaints. I know I could have probably emailed or filed some sort of warranty issue type of deal but I don't have the time to wait for weeks on end to get something like this fixed. They're probably not going to give me a loner splitter while mine's being fixed so I just said "to heck with it..I'll fix the plug myself". I just gotta hope that it doesnt die within the warranty period...just wish they would have some factory control over what quality of parts are used..is a warranty any good on something like this anyhow? who knows Journeyman-Pro 515PV https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078FNZY2H?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
