Has paid for itself on first use. I Love it!

I had to replace our bathroom vanity and bought this Klein Laser Level after watching a YouTube video demoing laser levels for carpentry uses. I put it on a small tripod that came with a Konus spotting scope I have. I turn the device on 3 Axis and: low and behold, I can * immediately * tell the leveling / alignment of the new Ikea vanity I was roughing in. For the heck of it I compared against the readouts from 2 yellow conventional levels I own and it's right on. PLUS: The beams are very bright. Indoors it produces bold unmistakeably clear lines. I'm impressed considering it's price being at the still affordable / DIY user level (which is me). (Some of those Bosch laser levels range from around $300 - $800, that is Pro stuff it would be silly for me to buy.) I used this for an Ikea vanity install in a very brightly (fluorescent) lit bathroom. The lines are unambiguously visible, bold and clear. I also took this device outside on a beastly hot, bright, 98 degree August day and yeah, it's a lot harder to see the lines in blasting outdoor light but, for the price, I can't complain. It feels very solid, well built, not cheap. I will never be a carpentry "pro" but , for my purposes, this device will help me out on my various self-starter home fixit projects. Runs on 2 AA alkaline batteries which come shipped with the unit. I can recommend this for DIY users. It's perfectly fine for it's price point. If you do a LOT of outdoor construction, a suggestion: You could order this unit from Amazon and test it on a sunny day and see if it will function (produce visible lines) outdoors at a visibility level you are comfortable with. If you don't like it, send it back, eh? YMMV. I'm going to use this Klein laser level device this weekend when I build a new plastic shed from a kit. I plan to build a level non-permanent foundation first. P.S. Comes with a super durable, moulded black plastic hinged carrying / storage case with 2 large snap-clasps on it. Very heavy duty protection.

Cheap Interior Vertical & Horizontal Laser That Eats Batteries
By Darkbootie on Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2025
It's a cheap little indoor unit. Works well for vertical and horizontal alignment in most single family residential structures. The plumb laser is o.k. for residential work. You don't want to build six floors trusting this things plumb line. It's a little irregular blob of light instead of a sharp spot. I gave this unit three stars because of the batteries. It takes three AA batteries, which is fine but the battery door requires a phillips head screw driver. That's a pain because of what I am about to tell you. The unit has a blinking "out of level" light that comes on, when, you guessed it, the unit is tilted past what the compensator can adjust for. If you forget to lock the pendulum before you put it in the case the light runs the batteries dead. Even with locking the pendulum it seems to love eating batteries when it's not in use. Taking the batteries out is the best thing, so you better keep the screw driver close or one in the case with it. And don't booger up that cheap little screw holding the battery door closed. My neighbor had duct tape holding his together inside of six months.
