Little work horse

Sun Joe SWJ599E 14-inch 9-Amp Tree Limb Master Electric Handheld Chainsaw with Low-Kickback was used to cut apart an old cabinet and it worked perfectly. We had an old TV cabinet that was extremely well made that we no longer wanted. It weighed a ton and was too heavy to move, took up too much space and we had no use for it any more. So I came up with the idea to cut it apart to get rid of it. This chain saw worked flawlessly. For starters we over filled the oil. The oil window is a bit hard to see, it doesn't show the oil level clearly. So my SO insisted it needed more and it overflowed. BUT, even being over flowed it worked without any problems. Instructions CLEARLY state do not over fill It cut through the thick mdf boards with no problems. Sound level was great. You don't want to use a gas chain saw inside your home so this worked perfectly. Saw dust did NOT fly all over. It stayed where the blade was cutting. The saw is very light weight. There IS no kick back. It cut through the boards like a gas chain saw. Perfect chainsaw for smaller, neater jobs and even indoors! Absolutely recommend this saw.

poorly engineered plastic tensioner housing is probably why your chain comes off
By Family on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2024
If you take off the cover, and then remove the black metal piece, underneath you will see that only some plastic is holding back the tensioner screw. On YouTube I found a video where a handy person added a washer to distribute the weight over more of the plastic. The tensioner screw head is slipping through the plastic. My chain was popping off so often, that after putting back on according to instructed dozens of times I probably overtightened it, and as you can see the cheap plastic broke, so I can't even fix it with a waasher. I would have been far better off just renting a decent chainsaw for half a day from a big box store. Sure, this chainsaw was cheap, but if my time and frustration is worth anything, it is the most expensive piece of lawn equipment I have. I do have a lot of SunJoe equipment, so I'm not saying the company is no good, I'm just saying that I hope they have strenghened this housing. Don't overtighten the tensioner, it will just break!
