Wish this earth auger had been available years ago!
By Donna Hudspeth on Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2019
I have been using my Landworks Heavy Duty Eco-Friendly Electric Cordless Auger Power Head, w/Steel 6"x30" Earth Auger for one month and am totally in love with it. I am a 74 year old 5'3" woman, not at all athletic, with a knee functioning at less than 50% and severe hip bursitis as well as arthritis everywhere, lol. In other words, just getting older. I am also a gardening addict. This wonderful cordless auger allows me to continue with my gardening when my body would shut me down. First thing this morning, I drilled 33 holes with my 6" auger deep enough for several one-gallon and three-gallon potted shrubs and have plenty of battery power left for more digging. When planting large potted shrubs, I dig three holes in a triangle, scoop out the loosened soil and even the sides with a sharp shooter and shoulder power, not having to put any stress on knees or hips. I am planting in northern Alabama sand, sandstone and tree roots, lots of tree roots, not an easy dig. Without the auger, this project would have taken me several days of digging. With the auger, I was through with the 33 holes in a little over one hour. I love it! The auger is heavy to move around, approximately 35 pounds, but so easy to handle in place. I am able to carry it where I need to and am able to store it on an overhead rack in the garage which makes it totally useable for me. It is also very well balanced and digs easily without having to press down on the head. It actually works more smoothly if you allow the weight of the power head to push it further into the hole. My husband is 82 with a bad back. He borrowed the auger to dig a couple of post holes to repair a fence. He is in constant pain with his back and was dreading making the fence repair, but the auger made it really easy for him. He tells everyone who will listen about OUR auger, lol. This is an amazing gardening tool every gardener should have. It is a life-saver for me. When ordering, I refrained from ordering the optional higher powered battery at $150 and am using only the battery that came with the auger. It is more than sufficient for my needs and can outlast me. I give out long before the battery does. I have used the auger several times over the past month, and my husband has used it once. Neither of us can find a single negative to this tool. It is sturdy, well-designed, heavy-duty and dependable. Because it is battery operated, I can use it anywhere and am looking forward to using it on some of the Master Gardener projects in my area. If you decide to bite the bullet and purchase the earth auger, you won't be disappointed. It is a great tool!

Broken after 15 holes - Good but doesn't last
By Lu Luzifer on Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2020
I bought this item to build several chicken fences. In March 2019 we built our first chicken coop fenced it in and used the Landworks Earth Auger. Simple with battery but not very powerful. We put 10 holes in. Forward to March 2020 we started the 2nd chicken coop and fence, another 10 holes. After the first 5 holes the Auger stopped working. First I thought the battery is dead but it showed full power. I fully recharged it and put it back in. Auger would not start, cleaned all contacts, nothing. It's just dead. So basically we spent 400$ for 15 fence holes (4x4 wood) and now we can trash the whole unit. I recently bought a gas auger for less money and it drilled the hole 5x faster. This is a nice toy but certainly not a tool. Extremely disappointment. I expected at least 3-5 years out of it.
