I'm a retired builder who has bought countless tools through the years .Im not sure how then can do it , but there are some really great deals on tools out there today . The Skil line is impressive. I just bought the oscillating cutter, and the battery 16 gauge finish nailer. These easily compete in price with Harbor Freight tools but carry the more recognizable name brand. Very nice saw

Battery life is poor. Replacement way too expensive.

This might be long but worth it to read. I was completely happy with this set (saw, battery & charger) until the battery failed. Lithium Ion batteries will 'die' if they sit idle. Owners must periodically run the tool to 'refresh' the battery or it will drain itself of power to a point below being able to be recharged. (Makita was pulled into a class action law suit over this.) Knowing this, I made sure my saw was 'refreshed' during the 2 years of service I rec'd. In fact, I used it 3 days prior to it failing. It was not over worked. I used it for household projects and prolly only needed to charge it 4 to 6 times over 2 years. I paid $70 for the set and the best price on a replacement battery is $40. It's the same scam printer companies run. Printer is cheap but ink cartridges are terribly expensive. Saw set is inexpensive but replacement parts are ridiculous in cost. Another reason to avoid Skil is battery variations. Batteries/tools are not interchangeable. Some tools are 20v. Some are 12v. That means specific batteries and chargers for each tool instead of a universal set. Skil is playing a deceitful and manipulative game, instead of, simply, offering a quality product at a fair price. They know, if they can get the tool into a consumers hand, most will continue to feed it batteries. While cordless is truly convenient for a homeowner, replacement parts are cost prohibitive. They're bad for the environment. The batteries are recyclable only if your local waste mgmt recycles them. If they're not profitable, they're prolly going into the landfill or your taxes are paying to dispose of them in barrels. I'll prolly go back to corded tools as my rechargeable tools fail. The corded version of this saw is only $62. I gave this set 3 stars because for the short time it worked, it was great.
