Amazon Basics Auto-Rewindable Hose Reel

My hose reel arrived yesterday was packaged well and arrived in a timely manner I opened the package and was pleased with the appearance of the reel and the instructions were straight forward and the wall bracket was sturdy and easy to mount . I attempted to use the the reel today and that is when I became disappointed . The hose connectors on the unit are trash, they are cheap plastic and you cannot use a standard hose fittings on the unit. I may have misread the description but I thought it said that there was standard hose fittings and that is why I bought this reel, because I use my own accessories with my own brass quick connects to connect to sprinklers, pressure washer, soaker hose these types of things but you cannot connect to the end of the real hose unless you use their type of Quick Connect which is not the type I have. So I had to make a quick trip to the hardware store to buy standard fittings for the end. After installing it and trying it I discovered that the end that connects to the hose bib leaks and I tightening it wouldn't stop it so I had to make another trip to get a brass fitting for the this end also. If you buy a garden hose you get a standard brass fitting on each end they are one end female in the other end male, why would a hose reel be different. It would have been much better if they would have just put a decent regular hose fittings on both ends and let people use what they have. Another problem is in the description it says that there is a 6 ft 2 in connection hose when I actually it's only about a 3 ft hose. I'm pleased with the unit the sturdiness and the way it works but it's a shame to see such a good unit only getting one star because the cheap way they finished it. I've used Amazon Basics before and was pleased with the products that I had gotten this time I'm not and I will think twice before I buy Amazon Basics again. I guess maybe my issues are more with the description than with the product because I think the reel is a very nice unit, however I have only had it one day.
