It works! Heavy duty and plenty of bottom material to clamp into vise,
By Angelo M. on Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2020
It works! As shown in the pictures I installed this on my Wilton 5.5" vise, grips perfectly in the jaws. I straightened a covid-19 length (that is 6 feet) of 1/4" zinc plated steel line in less than 1 minute making a few passes through it then tightening a touch on the last pass. Works perfectly for my needs. I will be using this to straighten coiled brake lines 1/4 and 3/16" as well as fuel/vapor hard lines 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8". The materials I will be working with is copper nickle, steel, or steel with a coating or plating. For my use, this is working great. I am not using this with stainless steel and do not plan to ever work with stainless in a home shop. If you are looking to straighten rolls of stainless steel, flares, etc.. you should acquire the tools that are made, if not recommended by the manufacturer of the stainless rolls you use. Anyone who leaves a bad review about a product not being able to bend stainless has no idea how much stronger and harder stainless steel is compared to other materials. If you have worked with stainless exhaust, brake lines, etc.. you know what I am talking about, you need special tools to do it right and that can be different simply based on the grade of stainless your dealing with. I picked this product over 3 other types simply because I could get it delivered in 1 day with prime shipping, the others were either shipped directly and had a much longer ship time or they were to be in stock in a few days from now. Based on my research here on Amazon there are 3 basic designs of pipe straighteners. For those doing the research, perhaps this will help, or maybe it will inspire you to leave a review/comment and improve my research. :) Handheld 3 x 4 rollers (12 total) on 4 sides The 4 side 3 rollers per side handheld models are pipe diameter specific. I think this is handy, though I do not own one if I do I would get the Eastwood 3/16" version strictly for brake lines. Vise mounted 1 back panel with 3 x 2 rollers The 1 back panel with 2 upper 3 lower rollers I have found come in a number of various brands and designs including a Jeg's version. They all appear to be the same basic design though one is sightly different and advertises itself as having a thicker back panel which everything is mounted to. Vise mounted 2 panel with 3 x 2 rollers The two 2 side panel with 2 upper and 3 lower rollers (like this one reviewed) I have found come from a dozen or so rebranded versions, almost all look the same except for 2: This model has wider tracks along the sides where the upper rollers adjust up/down, and the other one is slightly different and claims to be made in the USA, and obviously costs significantly more. I suspect the 1 back panel design work fine, assuming they use quality parts and the side panel is very strong. The only flaw is stress over time. If the 1 back panel is strong enough then the only stress points are the bolts that hold the rollers onto the panel. To completely alleviate the stress points the 2 side panel design like this model is preferred. The only drawback is that you must load lines into it rather than put the line inside at any position you want then clamp it down before running the line through the rollers. Cost wise, the 1 panel designs are about $20-50 cheaper, I don't think the extra savings is worth the worry that it may not hold up over time. This 2 side panel design leaves no question that it will hold up fine with years of random use. I think the 4 sided handheld design is very handy, but at $100+ each, they are not worth investing in unless you will be using that size often.

Do not use for 3/4" Rapid Air pipe.
By William B. on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2023
Does not work with 3/4" Rapid Pipe air line. Leaves lines in aluminum pipe which is 1" o.d. Distorts pipe. And the wheels are to close together to straighten large tubing.
