Very high quality, excellent color, excellent dimming
By Synfendia on Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2019
I needed an LED light strip system for a barrel stave wall art project I was building (see attached pictures). I have used cheaper, remote-controlled color LEDs in the past and had not been impressed. Plenty on Amazon. They're all the same. But for this project, I needed it to be nice. So this time I bit my knuckle and sprung for the much pricier Philips Hue system. I was NOT disappointed. The range of colors and brightness is excellent. The color consistence along the entire strip is perfect. The dimming is far better than any other product I've used. The only issue I encountered is that the Philips strip is much thicker than most others. It is about 1/2 to 2/3 of an inch thick or so, due to the weather proof casing. Also, it seems to resist standard double sided tape or 3M foam tape. So the only way I could mount it was using the clips that come with it. Not a big deal, but worth noting.Once I had the whole system set up, including the hub, some switches, and the mobile app, it completed a very impressive display. Now my bedroom wall has nice barrel stave wall art that wakes me up each morning with a gently brightening cheery sunrise and settles the night down with a richly colored dimming sunset. It really exceeded my expectations.

Stopped working after 4 months -- no warranty support
By Russian Student on Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2020
My light strip worked great for 4 months, then stopped working the evening while I was adjusting the brightness. I contacted Philips to get them to honor the warranty, exchanging 8-10 e-mails with them and going through 2 separate phone calls, and they're stating they won't honor the warranty for items purchased on Amazon. I've checked the Philips website directly and this is a load of rubbish -- the warranty is on all products regardless of the retailer. This is the kind of support Philips gives for what basically amounts to a very expensive piece of decorative lighting? That is ridiculous. Who would buy what is supposed to be a premium product with that kind of terrible support?
