They worked, then a month later they didn’t
By 🎉customer on Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2022
Updated review 11/29/22: About a week after 9 bulbs disconnected on the same day (see below), the issue was fixed. According to some posters on Reddit, the disconnection was due to a zigbee software issue which was fixed by Amazon. That sounds like it might have been the problem. At this moment, all my bulbs are working properly and according to their routines. This is a thing of beauty when they work. They are great bulbs ... and software issues can happen to anything "smart". I originally rated them 5 stars. Then I downgraded them to 1 star when they all disconnected. I'm now upgrading them back to 5 stars. ------------------ Updated review 10/31/22: I have 9 Sengled zigbee bulbs. They worked great with Alexa….until they didn’t. They all disconnected on the same day and won’t reconnect. Alexa says they’re “not connected.” The Alexa app says “server is not responding.” While the bulbs can work as regular bulbs, I bought them specifically to work in an Alexa routine, and now they don’t. Zero stars. ———————- Original review Sept 2022: I wanted zigbee bulbs, without needing any other app or hub, to connect to my Echo Show 10 which has zigbee. I don’t like having 20 different apps/hubs. I like all my devices on the Alexa app only. This bulb fits the bill. At first glance at the box, I didn’t see the word zigbee, but the Z icon is there on the box and on the bulb. This bulb is about .5” longer and about .38” wider than a standard incandescent bulb. The bulb is noticeably heavy in comparison to the LED bulb it was replacing. This bulb weighs 142g = 5oz; the bulb it replaced weighed 47g = 1.65oz. I’m a bit concerned that the bulbs are too heavy for the sockets, tbh. My light fixture is on the ceiling. Two bulbs lie parallel to the ceiling (i.e., the bulbs are in a horizontal position). So, the weight at the bulb portion of the bulb is causing stress on the socket. I guess time will tell if the socket breaks in some fashion due to the weight. Definitely weighty. Also, there’s a 1.625” vented circular spot at crown of the bulb that emits no light. I think that circular thing might be to allow heat to escape the bulb. The light comes out the sides of the bulb and part way up the crown. It provides plenty of light, but I can definitely see that there’s no light coming off the end of the bulb. I purchased the daylight bulbs. It’s nice, bright white, light. It works well with my Alexa routine.

Buzzing, flickering, disconnecting
By Joe Jing on Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2023
I got numerous Govee and another "off-brand" smart rgb, audio sensitive capable, lights a couple years back for most rooms in my house. Each brand required 3rd party apps that were then synced through Alexa. It was a pain to set up, but it worked well for quite a while. Over time, they became de-synced and unreliable. Then I switched internet provider and wi-fi hardware and was looking at having to set everything up again. I thought it might be time to try another brand and hope technology was better. I was excited to see these bulbs didn't require a 3rd party app. I spent over $160 on a full set of replacements. Worked totally reliably for about a week. Then slowly it got worse and worse. It's been close to 3 months and a couple buzz, another fixture w/ 4 bulbs permanently flickers, and *none* of them work with Alexa now. I decided to write this while I build up the motivation to attempt to reset all of the bulbs in every room in the hopes it fixes things and lasts longer this time. But I wanted to warn others that it probably isn't worth the hassle for these bulbs.
