Well worth the buy.

So, I bought these for my property so when I'm out working on something my wife can yell at me loud and clear. But really I'm very impressed with these I live in the mountains very hilly and covered in brush and trees I've owned a bunch and cheap ones as a kid and my dad buying the nicer ones for around the property. I remember him even getting into cb radios but nothing was a match for these hills a few miles is all we could get out of most radios and when we had the good cb radio hooked up we got a few extra. So when I got 1.4 miles out of these radios I was very impressed. Why? Let me draw you a picture. Wife's on the porch most likely holding the radio wrong pointed away from me antenna facing into the house or hill away from where I'm driving I went not just behind but over a hill behind another hill dropped off into a small valley that's a miles away from my house that's behind another hill! And we can still talk loud and clear... Remember I'm also in a car so if she was looking at me the signal would have to go through 5 mountain with zero line of sight that's over a mile away... Now after the 6 hill around 1.5 miles from my house it started getting choppy but I hit a clear spot still blocked by a mountain but the signal came through now at 1.8 miles away and she's loud and clear.... Now this part of the canyon I had to go behind another mountain and through another mountain at over 2 miles away and we hit a dead spot.. I was talking to her and at some moments I would come in clear as day but as I was driving it would quickly vanish.. So that's 7 mountain later and the radios finally give out... Call me impressed. I also had a small 3w or 5w cb radio with a upgraded antenna on the same frequency to see if I could hear her on that but it stopped picking her up at 1.5 miles.... And so I'm very glad I went with these since it struggled to keep a clearer signal then the Dewalt and they arnt as clear nore legal like the Dewalt are without a special license. As for quality I must of got the upgraded batch because mine came in with the batteries installed and the people who had issues with the unit had to install the batteries. Also the antenna feels very sturdy along with the back clip I feel it will break before that clasp fails and I don't feel it breaking anytime soon. I'm also not a fan of Dewalt I personally own several Milwaukee power tools and a couple Dewalt and Milwaukee always out last and performs them. I would even buy Roybi over Dewalt is how much I'm not a fan boy of them haha but I must give credit where credit is due.. I wasn't expecting Alot and I got way more then I could ever imagine. Alot of people don't like the battery but I'm never going to remove it unless its dead and it's supposed to have a 14 hour work life so if your on a job site spending 50 dollars a radio just buy an exstra set or two so when one dies on the field they can swap them out for a charged one. And when you notice them dieing before the days over maybe its time to change out the battery? I'm sure they'll Alot cheaper then the standard clip on kind and probably why Dewalt went this route. Personally I'd recommend these at 100 and if you don't want to wait around for a sale asking price is far for what you are getting from personally using and even having my friends tell me you'd be lucky to find a radio that will work a half miles away from home once you get behind a hill it's worthless.. Overall and so far I'm very impressed and time will tell how long they will last/hold up and if something comes up that warranty doesn't cover I'll make sure to update my review but I'm very happy and plan to buy another set.

It's not a heavy duty Item (average life spam 6 months max)

We leave in a farm close to the ocean (1.5 mile), so we have tough conditions. All units are used every other day to allow charging. Likes: Good range, crisp & clarity sound. It is a strong product if the intention is not for heavy duty Dislike: $$$, but again nothing to compare to at this price range. After buying 6 of these radios (different times) since 2018, I can summarized my experience saying that if this is the top imagine the rest (we used Motorola as well, even worse). The plastic on / off button come off easily after a couple months (careful). It comes with a horrible swivel holder (belt clip) design which soon will break but regardless if it doesn't, it will let the radio come off when you have to run or actively move. In addition, it cannot be charged with the belt clip on. The chargers work fine for a short while thereafter, it's a pain to charge a radio. for some reason the contacts at the charger stop working properly so you will have to play every time with each radio moving it very slow and carefully until eventually a connection is stablished to start charging. Regardless of the charger, we cannot charge more that one walkie talkie at a time in the same double charger. As manufacturing defect, the battery cover in the back comes with 3 screws which are not rust protected so expect these screws get totally rusted quite soon. The real problem it's that these screws fit in a metal female bolt inserted, glued in the body (plastic) of the unit which eventually will break the case so the battery cover will be lose allowing moist & debris inside so there it goes its water resistant. The batteries itself are already going down in its performance after few months (4 approx.). The charging cicle went down significantly so each unit need to stay charging for more than 4 hours. Good luck trying to find batteries replacements, I haven't been able to locate them. The antena breaks quite easy so after the holder is broken don't put the unit in your back pocket or any pocket, antena gone.
