Okay until battery dies

I bought 2 battery last year and perhaps used them only a few times. Though one of my batteries no longer charges or anything; it's completely dead. If you spend about $140 for a battery, you expect that you can charge it more the 3 or so time before it dies completely. Though I'll admit that the other one I bought is still functional......for now.
