CRAFTSMAN 3000W Gas-Powered Portable Generator

I purchased this for use around my farm because I needed to do some welding (110 volt) and do some airless spray painting that was too far for extension cords. This is a Generac generator with a Craftsman label. It starts easily, runs super quiet, and hasn't failed me yet. When not in regular use, I usually try to start it every couple of months just to ensure it starts. Always does - usually no more than three pulls. My only complaint is that oil checks and changes are buried under soundproofing and a little hard to access. Otherwise, I love it.

I have a C-Class 24' 30amp RV (2020). A couple of weeks ago, my internal CUMMIN's generator wouldn't start. I tried for several hours to get it started. I live Phoenix, AZ in the summer the temperatures get up to 117 on average. It's very dangerous to be without air conditioning, especially in a RV and worse, being stranded on the road in the middle of the desert! I finally got the RV generated started and made it home. This was a warning that I needed a backup generator. After hours of looking at reviews, the CRAFTSMAN stood out. After it arrived, I unboxed it, followed the instructions (put in the supplied oil, filled it with gas), turned the switch to choke, pulled on time, and it started and stayed running. It was so quiet I didn't think it was running compared to my CUMMIN's generator. I plugged in my power cable to the RV and it powered right up! I just can't stress enough how quiet this generator is. And its light weight, only sixty pounds, easy to lift and carry (a big plus). The other power options (110 & USB) are another big bonus.

Great generator, this is our 2nd one. The first was stolen; when it went on sale we ordered it again. Very quiet and able to run an 8,000 BTU window ac and a small floor fan. And not nearly as heavy as the regular generators. As others have mentioned, change the oil for the first time pretty early on and don’t neglect that maintenance. Very easy to do - and that’s coming from someone who has no mechanical knowledge.

Ran my refrigerator on its test run . Started right up and is no louder than other generators of the same type. I gave it 4 stars as time will tell how good it really is. A bit heavy but still portable.

Started on first pull. Got it at a very good discounted price due to a 20% off coupon. Ran all I broke it in with, did three changes with the included oil plus sae 10W-30in first few hours. Works like a champ so far, will update on longevity.

Bought this 5 months prior to needing it, but started using it on my OTR truck in November 2022. Regular oil and spark plug changes every month. This is August 2023, and for the past couple months it has been very erratic running. Some days great, other days not worth a crap. Some days doesn't wanna start, other days wants to run wide open throttle. Kinda hard to pinpoint any one thing with that much all over the place running. In a nutshell, I've gotten 6 good months out of it, running approximately 10 or so hours a night, 3-4 nights a week. That's garbage in my opinion.

Does a great job with my 29 foot camper. No problem running the AC, and is quite quiet.

A bit heavier than expected, but started up just fine and was less noisy than the last one I used. Will have to see how it does under longer running time (three days on the last one that I had borrowed) but hope I never have to use it!

It is not lite. I use two arms to carry it. But it works great. I'm totally happy with it. It carries the Craftsmen label but is made by Generac. The economy switch lowers noise and gas consumption. Never more than two pulls to get started but always turn the economy off and remove any plugs. Love it!

I took a chance on this generator. I had always heard good things about Honda, but I needed more power and was on a budget. Glad I went with this model it runs everything in my fish house/camper and is barely audible inside. It has been a good starter for sitting outside in Minnesota winters.
