Powerful Electric Wheelbarrow
By Jeff P on Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020
I just received my Landworks Power Wagon a week ago and I love it so far. The lithium ion battery version is the way to go IMHO (vs the lead-acid battery)...the charger works well and rapidly charges the battery with no risk of overcharging (as is apparently the case with the lead-acid charger). It shipped with 2 batteries and they seem to last a solid 2+ hours each...so one can recharge as you continue to work with the other. My first day, I hauled 42 cement bags from my driveway to my work site in the back yard (100 yard round trip). I loaded four 80lbs bags each trip. It worked perfectly...plenty of drive power. I moved the entire load using one battery charge. The collapsible sides made loading and unloading easy...no need to lift over the sides, as with typical wheelbarrows. The two front wheels had plenty traction and provided good stability on mildly uneven terrain. One tip, load heavy objects (like cement bags) in the back first. I made the mistake of putting a bag in the front first and the whole thing tipped over, back over front...oops! The assembly instructions are not great, but I was able to figure it out with some trial and error. Might be worth looking for a YouTube instruction video before starting to avoid some frustration. The metal mesh wagon (the part that holds the load to haul) is well designed and pretty sturdy, but it could be a bit tougher. Heavy objects, like pavers, may bend the frame if they shift abruptly during transit. I moved a bunch of large field stones (40 to 75lbs each) and I added a plywood base and sides to protect the metal from bending and scratching the paint off (which will cause it to rust). That said, the ability to lower the sides for loading/unloading is great, as is the ability to remove the sides to convert it into a flatbed for oversized loads. You can easily line the mesh wagon with a small tarp to move loads of dirt, pea gravel, or mulch; but if this is a primary use the custom liner for $89 is probably worth the cost (I don’t have it yet, so I can comment on its quality, but I will likely get it). Overall, it has already made a couple of jobs I was dreading much easier and my back is very pleased with the investment.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

This was without a doubt the worst purchasing and return experience I’ve ever had with Amazon. Whatever you do, don’t believe the reviews because this wagon is a piece of junk. I spent three hours putting it together including taping over the end of stripped bolts so I could thread the nuts. The cart was supposed to come with one battery so I ordered an additional battery. Lo and behold it comes with two so I wasted my money buying a third. On level, dry ground this wagon is mediocre at best. We put a load of wood in it that did not even go over the edge of the wagon sides. It was Certainly not overloaded by any stretch of the imagination and it would not even crest a small hill with only a slight angle. I injured my shoulder trying to give it some help. I did call customer support first and even though they claimed to be “happy over the moon” to assist in anyway, I never received a return to my call . So after several tries at battery recharging and other variations of terrain, we came to the final conclusion that this thing is absolutely worthless. I informed Amazon that I had no intention of disassembling the cart. Oh that fell on deaf ears or I had to eat $750. So we’re schlepping it together in a box and may God help the UPS driver who has to pick it up and I mean that sincerely. From now on I’ll be burning as many fossil fuels as I can with gators and tractors and everything else I can find that has real power and uses gas. Cost be damned!

A back saver

I've owned the Landworks cart for several months now and can give you the good as well as the bad ultimately illustrating why this is a great purchase. I bought mine in early January on sale, you might wait for Black Friday or you might get lucky on random sales when they occur. With supply chain issues who knows but it might be worth taking the chance to wait to save money, find the right app to help you. First, the impressive torque will pull quite a load. I use this cart primarily for my landscaping projects: moving heavy concrete blocks, large amounts of lumber, soil, everything. I would ordinarily use my Gorilla Cart (highly recommended) for this but I'm getting older and my body is one giant pulled muscle after all that lifting. Second, you'll receive two lithium batteries and the charger whereas many manufacturers will just give you one and make you buy a backup. Nice job Landworks! You keep both batteries in the unit and get full power with just one, and when that runs out the second one is there to switch to--very convenient. Third, ease of assembly as you're basically attaching the cage and the handles, not much more than that. I found a video on YT and was surprised how simple it was, piece of cake for one person although the axle is very heavy so be careful. If you can handle a wrench you can put it together. Now the not so good, not too many. First, everyone complains about the cage and rightly so--it is flimsy. Not paper thin but put some pressure on it and it will bend the mesh, clearly manufactured this way to keep costs down. The obvious solution is to measure and cut some plywood and diy a floor and sides, not difficult at all. Second and for me the biggest issue is the third wheel. If you're not careful the entire weight of the cart will be placed on that one pivot point on sharp turns and potentially bend it as I've seen in negative reviews. I really wished Landworks put two pivoting wheels to even out the back load, I may have to figure out a diy solution for two back wheels. Not a deal breaker but could be much better, be careful and watch that wheel on turns. Even with some minuses my back thanks me every day for getting this, it's been a lifesaver. Consider picking up the snowplow attachment, it came in handy when I leveled my lawn as it has good heft. I'm considering buying a tow plug aerator and attaching to the same pin the plow goes, will update if I do this. Keep an eye out for a sale and pull the trigger when it happens, enjoy your cart!

Pretty nice tool! I have an off-grid place that needs things maneuvered on. This gets it done without causing undue damage to either the ground or my back. It works longer than I can and rarely complains. You probably need one if you read this far.
Met Expectations for Day 1- Continues to impress

Update: 2 months later. Continue to be impressed with machine. It continues to work well for me. I grab this cart instead of my contractor's wheelbarrow. I did have one problem. The rear wheel got bent out of round. Contacted Landworks -Great Circle and they sent a replacement wheel. Great service! Trying to understand the cause of failure. The rear wheel is mounted on a swivel. When you are going backward the wheel has to pivot to reverse direction. I think at some point, the wheel hung up sideways. With the cart it reverse, it has the potential to side load the rear wheel and bend it. I mention this to other as point of awareness to others. Might be better to rigid mount the rear wheel. That way you eliminate the possible side load. This would require more effort to steer. Also when you are heavily loading the wagon you need to be a little careful if you need to go down hills. It will pack the weight but the drivetrain resistant and your ability to slow down the cart if all you have to control the wagon. We live on a hill and have to move landscaping materials and brush debris up and down a hill. It has been becoming harder for me to do (65 years old). So I wanted to try this system. Delivery was fast (Amazon drop off). Machine was well packaged. Assembly was fairly straight forward and intuitive. This isn't an industrial machine but looks like it could stand up to rigorous residential use. The rear wheel has a grease zerk on the swivel bearing. Also there is a drain plug for the transmission. One of end gates was bent. Not sure how it it got bent, but didn't really matter to me. As others have mentioned, the bed metal grating is pretty light. I used some of the packing "rubber" to cover. Probably could use some 1/4 plywood. It is a balance between keeping weight down and frame strength. There were some clips to attach the wiring. Not sure how to use these. Probably would be better off to just include some tie wraps. The battery charger is pretty basic. Seems like it would be better to have a charger like Ego with feedback on state of battery. You can get that, but you have to push a button. I think there could be some improvements to the thumb throttle. Feel like the spring return is weak. I needed to move the throttle back and forth with my thumb. When you push the throttle to go forward, there is a delayed response as the machine ramps up the speed. You will need to make sure the thumb throttle turns down as you want to stop. There is a brake on the rear wheel, but it is more of stop. The gearbox has resistance that can help slow down the machine. If you had a really heavy load that you wanted to move down a hill, you might want to experiment first with a smaller load to understand limits. My path to the back yard is fairly steep and crooked. I was able to move a full load of firewood out "the hole" fairly easy. Had a couple of areas where the wheels slipped, but it was much better than trying to push a wheelbarrow out by hand. I think I will need to make some modifications to the box to allow me to haul gravel, compost, etc. Overall I think a good compromise between cost and function. Time will tell as to its reliability.
I'm really impressed.

***Update *** This thing is a beast. If you garden and plant. If you cut and split firewood. If you build things outside. I have hauled thousands of pounds of firewood, stone, topsoil, tools up and down hills and it has finished me before I have finished the first battery. I highly recommend. I'm gonna do this in stages over time. Some observations out of the box and assembly: 1. Best packaging job I have ever seen they truly get 10 pounds in a five pound bag 2. There are some youtube videos worth reviewing in advance of assembly as, like most Chinese consumer products, the instructions are terrible. One of the comments that someone posted on one of the videos was that: "you put the wheels on backwards." Another was that: "it goes faster in reverse than forward." To which someone replied: "you have the wheels in backwards. More to follow. 3. I did it by myself in and hour and a half, but I recommend 2 people as it is heavy and some of the steps require 3 hands, but I did it in 90 minutes. 4. It came with two batteries. I thought the product description said one so I ordered a second. It came with two. 5. I was impressed with how heavy it was. The four walls are a little flimsy, I may add 1/4" plywood to the bottom. 6. The front wheel chassis had a nut encased in neoprene to protect the threads, but the hardware did not contain the nuts to assemble the wheels so I cut the nuts out of the neoprene to screw on the threads and that worked. Not sure if that was intentional or not. 7. Even though I had been warned twice, I put the wheels on backwards. 8. OUT the door it's faster than 3 mph if the wheels are on right 9. When battery one dies you have to switch from battery 1 to 2 manually, there's a switch. 10. No brakes, so if you're moving things downhill go slowly. 11. If you load a bunch of 6 x 6 x 8's on, perpendicular to the bed, get some bungee cords and go upper right to lower left and upper left to lower right (an x). That worked really well. 12. I've moved rock, soil, firewood, 6 x 6's and tools. Really convenient. More to follow....

I am an amputee - right arm at elbow. I like to garden fruits and vegetables as well as use technology where possible to accomplish my goals. I use this "tractor" to haul a ton of tools and materials to wherever I need them on the "farm" - a quarter acre which we utilize mostly for growing fruits and vegetables. I installed a "workbench" above the cargo area which is the stainless metal from a dishwasher door with horizontal bracing and supports underneath to keep it from bowing under load. The workbench flips up with hinges mounted near the handlebars thus allowing access to tools underneath in the normal cargo area. The workbench is incredibly handy as it it is at waist level with a large surface area to keep the most used tools and materials handy as well as a workspace for simple fabrication of hangars, and other garden accessories which need to be custom made in the moment. I spend enough energy actually gardening/farming that I don't need to be going back and forth to the garage or a shed to get the next tool I need or forgot. It also makes it unnecessary to carry a heavy tool-bag or box which doesn't have enough space to fit every possible tool yet this machine is as close to perfect as you can get for that purpose. I have a gorilla cart to actually carry compost/dirt/hay/bags of cement etc. and I built a hitch on the tractor to pull the gorilla cart behind the tractor. I will upload photos when I get a chance. I gave it five stars even though the specific categories are four stars. The reason is that the deficiencies pointed to by the specific categories are outweighed by a huge margin by the overall utility of this cart for my purposes. The four stars - some parts didn't line up perfectly when assembling, cargo bay is not quite level because cargo bay latch is too high up on the chassis, charging requires removing the battery and monitoring the charge time. The five stars - powerful motor, fine speed control, clever steering design with third wheel, good battery life, overall quality/finishing is good, very versatile - 1000 uses I could come up with around the "farm", narrow enough to fit through normal doors yet roomy cargo space, excellent traction/ very knobby tires - will slip but only if over-loaded/unbalanced or slippery terrain or mud, max speed is perfect - any faster would be dangerous under some conditions - forces me to slow down to a safer pace, a half-second delayed "power-on" helps keep it from jerking when starting, acceleration is also moderated to not jerk the cargo when moving - thoughtful control design. Highly recommended - expensive, but in the long run I may live longer because this thing takes a load off of my mind and reduces excuses not to take another item off of my project list. In fact, it has the opposite effect because it is actually a little fun to drive around. God is good and He made this thing available through Great Circle and I am grateful to both. "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 5:16-23)

I got this to replace my DR gas powered cart. I'm a very active 75 year old senior petite lady who is less than 5' tall ! I don't have the strength I used to have and needed something I didn't have to push or pull. I have five horses at home and that means about 2 hours every morning feeding and then picking up poop and moving it to the end of my property. I have people who come and pick up the poop for use in their gardens. I needed a cart I didn't have to push. This cart is awesome !!! I just wish there was the option of having a 12 inch high plastic tub to use to hold the manure. I had a black tub that was used for mixing concrete in and it fits on top of the side racks and is easy to dump but its only about 8" deep so more trips back and forth... I've also used it as a flatbed with the tub on top and the weight of the manure keeps it pretty much in place as long as I'm on flat even ground. I like the battery lights that warn me when its getting low. I keep one battery on the charger while the other one is in use. Since its been really hot here, I've had to do some of my manure pickup when the sun goes down when its cool enough for me to be outside. I use a flashlight that I had that clamps onto the handle at the top where the battery lights are and use that to light my way picking up and dumping. Works for me ! I found some heavy duty magnets at Harbor Freight and use those to hold a wrench in case I need to tighten up clamps on my horse panels. I "improvise" quite a bit !! Recommendations would be to: 1) add a light to the middle of the handles so it can be used at night and 2) also make the switch for "forward" and "reverse" LIGHTED/ILLUMINATED like the battery level is you know in the dark if you are in forward or reverse !! 3) replace or have as an option solid bottom and side rails instead of the open wire type. The optional accessory offered is too expensive and wouldn't work for damp or wet manure or dirt. When I had my hay delivered the workers used this cart to move the bales from their trailer to my storage area. They transported two bales at a time... didn't try for three but probably could have. They were so impressed they asked me to send the the information to maybe buy one ! They had their own dollies to use, but used my cart instead !! I'll try and update this review with pictures of my "battery light" attachment, magnet and the tub in use. !

It's still pretty muddy outside (zone 5) but can't wait to use this to haul around pavers, dirt, etc for a path project! Cons: Instructions to assemble & how the accessory screws etc packages are labeled - were very confusing - however I pushed through. This wagon is very heavy because of the frame & motor. Modifications: 1) use extra zip ties to secure wiring; 2) *the wire used to hold the dump ramp pin in place- I had to remove the back wheels again and insert the pin AWAY from the wheel to avoid the holding wire from possibly puncturing wheel* see photo. 3) someone else suggested inserting a wooden bottom into the cart due to weak panel wiring- I'm going to follow this advice- I think I'll use a heavy rubber mat. FYI have to remove front panel to fully open battery case but I still could insert them ok. The metal itself- I'm going to safeguard & store in the garage to prevent rusting anything. Overall happy wagon came with 2 batteries- I ordered extra just in case. (Also, I'm heeding the warnings from others and the manual --there are no brakes for downhill usage.) Lastly, I did order the canvas insert but- it doesn't button up precisely? Hopefully my pics aide next buyer with assembly. Good luck!

the item arrived....2 bolts were missing, the axles were rusted and the key slots painted over...it was straightforward to assemble in about an hour for 2 handy and mechanical people....printed instructions were adequate....it had some plastic clips that were included for no reason and others that were useless for their function but it was easily compensated.....i rate the build quality as average and about 3 out of 5. the batteries charged promptly and the item worked without any major flaws.....it is narrow of track but stable enough at low speed, it steers easily and stops instantly and is useful for medium loads on level ground only. When loaded up the acceleration and top speed fall off quickly but the power wagon is a useful aid to reduce work load and make the day more productive with less fatigue. it could have used a tow bar for pulling and some kind of very simple basic towed seating accessory to convert it into a riding power cart, but its useful as it is for level properties with firm ground. I wanted to give it better than 3 out of 5 but the missing parts and the rusty axles prevented it....just a lack of attention to detail at the factory.
