Great quality tools
By Mackenzie on Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2025
Very nice wrench seems durable. I have always purchased Gearwrench tools and they seem like quality tools. Haven't had any issues with these tools yet. I really like the features of this torque wrench how it vibrates to warn you of the torque.

Practice with torque wrench on test nuts and bolts to make sure wrench is working properly
By Craig Zieres on Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2024
The Torque Wrench was easy to use and the fact that it measures angularity in addition to torque was a plus. I was excited to finally step up to digital, but quickly disappointed after damaging an engine block..The wrench was erratic, often turning off in the middle of bolt torque. I was using the wrench to torque cam shaft cover bolts to 14 nm and ended up over torquing and stripping threads in the engine cylinder head due to the fact that it never indicated target torque. This will result in either costly (if I take the car to the shop) or extremely time consuming rework as I will have to completely disassemble to tap and Heli-Coil the damaged engine cylinder head.I can't trust the one I received and will stick with my click torque wrenches. The accuracy on the included calibration sheet was also slightly less than advertised on Amazon's site.

Works Great! Although it's larger than I expected.

As stated, It is larger than normal 1/4" drive torque wrenches. Almost as big as the other two drives. It is accurate. But do not let it sit out in the cold in the winter. No electronic torque wrench reads properly when nearly frozen. That said, this is a very nice wrench. I like that I can torque and angle all in one sweep. Gearwrench makes great stuff!
Great for the price

Works great. Didn't want to get a fancy digital one until I knew i liked it. This one seems accurate. The only thing I noticed when doing angles is its only accurate on the first set, but I was close to maxing it out so it might not off liked it
Nice torque wrench, well made...

I will start with what i don't like, I am very old school, I still like the click type, its distinct and noticeable, you got to be so out of it to over shoot the torque setting. The new digital ones, yes it vibrates, yes LCD screen changes color, but the vibration is not as noticeable, ( too soft ), yes it beeps, if your working environment is not quite, you are likely to miss the beep, and could lead over torque, specially ones require lesser of torque.. this is the only complaint I have..for this matter its one star off...Here are the things I likeI specially like the price, way cheaper compair to ones sell from tool truck..I like the accuracy of this tool, along with the flex head. I think this is a key aspect of a precision instrument.I like the fine tooth gear rachet head,I like the aluminum handle, its grippy its solid.I like it can do all the conversion from ft lb to inch lb to Nm, of course within the minimum and maximum capacity of the torque wrench.I like it degree setting is also be able to achieve by few press of buttons.I also like It comes with a nice storage box, I take battery out each time I using it for that day..Over all I like it.

I've used this torque wrench to replace the timing belt and camshaft seals on an iForce 2UZ-FE and a couple of German suspension jobs. The flexing head is really useful for tight spaces and the red and green warning lights are bright enough when you're in tight spaces.Sure, it doesn't have lights on the side of the wrench so it can be a little difficult to see if you're bout to hit your spec, but the rhythmic vibrations kind of help once you get accustomed to it. There is a 90 second shutoff, which can get a little annoying but it does help conserve battery life. The white markings on the buttons must be indestructible because I've covered them in dirt, grease, and oil for weeks and after a quick wipe they're back to bright white. Now, this is still a digital torque wrench which means you need AA batteries. Which sucks because if you forget to take them out, you could destroy this $200 wrench. That said, it's 2024. Rechargeable batteries exist and they don't leak battery acid everywhere. Buy a pack and rotate them out. I still take mine out because it's a good habit to get into.Harbor Freight offers a wrench like this for a bit less but it doesn't have angle and what's the point in buying a digital torque wrench if it doesn't have angle? I'm biding my time to get the GW 1/2 version for a good deal.If you're a DIY guy or a Semi-Professional like me who's not working on cars enough to justify selling both kidneys to pay off a 96-mo lease on a Snap-On digital torque wrench. This is the perfect example of getting more than your money's worth.

There are a lot of complaints about this tool, is accurate, yes. Most of the complaints that I have seen is user error. First of all, if you are a person that is used to the click style torque bar, you will struggle in the beginning like I did ,just like anything new. You will have to get use to timing the sound/vibration vs the click. It has 2 different vibrations/ sounds , one lets you know you are with in tolerance range( whatever you set the percentage at) the second round of beeps/ vibrates is when you hit your target ( note when it signals you that you have hit your target, you actually 2-5%from your target, this’ keeps you from going over) take a look at the screen & finish the last remaining % , then hit the clear button & go to the next bolt. If you want accuracy this is your tool, if you like speed the click style is for you I’m pretty fast with both, I had to practice. Whether you go click vs digital, they are both two different type of tools.
Good quality, but first one came slightly dinged up.

Good quality, but first one came slightly dinged up. Kudos to Gearwrench, they exchanged without issue. Have used it several times and it's worked flawlessly.
No defined alert to let u know u hit ur target torque

Owed about a year. Seems to be solid build and good quality. But I wouldn't buy it again and may be looking for something else to add to the arsenal. It has the ability to dial in ur torque plus adding angle or degree as well. It's all fine and dandy if u can see the screen. When working off ur back and in awkward positions where u can't see the screen it's less than desirable. The lowest I can set the notification is within 20 percent of target torque. Thing start vibrating and flashing colors and vibrates a little more as u get closer to your target but so easy to over torque if u can't see the see the screen. It would be better if it had a defined beep when u hit the target torque when in situation where u can't see the screen. Which maybe it's just too nice of torque wrench for situations I use it for like in a wheel well and the screen is complete 180 from what I'm trying to torque. One other annoyances is the setting the torque being by tenths. U hold the button down and I over shoot by a couple lbs then end up pushing the button 20 times to drop or gain 2lbs. I think it's accurate and if your using it in situations where u can always seen the screen it's great. For an all around 1/2 inch for a backyard mechanic like myself it's been more of a hassel then not. If it had a defined alert when u hit ur target torque it would be much better in my opinion.
