Amaze-Heater 600W MAXI Heater

I purchased the Amaze-Heater 600-Watt 600SS to replace a similar wall-mount heater by another brand name (Cozy-Heater 600SS). The Amaze-Heater 600SS has an overwhelming chemical smell (hard to describe, like rotten-eggs mixed with paint thinner and window cleaner, as a rough approximation of how pungent it is). I first opened it in my large two-car garage and had to move it outdoors, due to its overpowering smell. Even the packaging it came in gave off the odor for days. An included paper says, "The product may exhibit a mild 'new product' odor during the first couple of days of consistent operation," but this is a wild understatement. I put this heater outside for a full week, running it for hours each day, which did lessen the smell a lot but this morning (the 8th day of airing it out outside) with a nearby window open, the item's smell from the porch where it sat wafted inside and that was the last straw. I don't know how the India-based manufacturing process differs from the other one I purchased, but my original Cozy-Heater branded heater did not have this issue. I gave it 2 stars because it does heat up well and in that regard, does work. I will try another brand because this style of wall heater works well with a Wemo smart plug that can turn it off and on depending on temperature (using Netatmo and IFTTT).
