Awesome mower, IF you know what to expect.

I don't get the negative reviews for this at all. People do no research before buying, it seems. So let me tell you what to expect.1. Assembly is super easy, especially if you're not going to bother with the grass bag. I didn't even need directions, but if you do then this is where the mower fails a little. Slide the bag bar up into the support holes for it first. Then click the bags plastic tabs over the sides, then the bottom. Adjust the strap until the bag will no longer hit the ground when you're pushing. We don't use the bag. Took me less than 3 minutes to assemble without instructions. For kicks I put the bag on (then removed it). Took an extra 3 mins or less to figure out. But I'm handy so if you're not that's alright. It does come with instructions so just allow yourself a little more time and you'll figure it out.2. RAISE THE GRASS HEIGHT ADJUSTERS TO FULL HEIGHT IF YOU HAVE AN UNEVEN LAWN. This is where most of you are going wrong, I think. I have the worlds most uneven lawn. I have dips and holes you can hide your mother in law in. And yes, this still works just fine, as long as I don't leave it on the factory set height. If you don't know what height to put yours at, push it a few times at the factory height, then try other settings until you find the height that pushes along easily. I skipped straight to high because I know what my lawn is like. :) LOL.3. This is super easy to push (as long as your height is adjusted), so it's suitable for everyone except very young kids. I'm old and disabled. I can push this EASILY. Whereas, a traditional lawn mower hurts my hands due to vibrations, this one takes only a little longer to use but doesn't hurt at all. My 70+ year old neighbor came out to see if she could also do it. Yup. Even people older than I, can manage, and she's now debating cancelling her lawn service to save money. And while the blades are sharp I would consider this safer for kids to use, too, compared to a traditional mower. Just have them keep their hands away from the blades. Yes, I let the six year old push this when he wants to. And since he's not an idiot, I also taught him how to safely clear the blades of any twigs I missed during pre-mow pickup. But he's a very responsible six, so keep that in mind if you're buying this for free child labor purposes.4. PICK UP YOUR LAWN BEFORE USE. This is probably where the rest of you are going wrong. It takes me exactly 15 minutes to pick up doggie landmines AND sticks before mowing. I do this once every week, and if you own dogs like I do then you should be doing at least that, too. It's no big thing to pick up twigs while you're at it. I have 4 mature trees on my property, and about 20 trees neighbors own right against my fence lines. So yeah...there's sticks out there. Do it once a week and it's not a big hairy deal. If you wait a month then yes...it's going to take you longer to clean your lawn and it's going to become a chore instead of an easy task. If you have a family then it becomes a super fast task if everyone pitches in.So that's it. This is not rocket science if you follow the advice above. You can use a push mower to save gas, save the environment, save MONEY (this thing has already paid for itself, since my traditional lawn mower repair ticket was going to be FAR more than the cost of this. And bonus....no more costly repairs...ever. EVER. Not many parts to this!) Or if you buy one because you're disabled and can't use a regular mower....no matter why you're looking at these just go into it knowing what to expect. It's slightly more work. Yup. Cannot argue that. I have to spend a few minutes picking up sticks while I'm out there every week. But it's quick easy work, and well worth the benefits. Also QUIET. Normal lawn mowers are loud enough to damage hearing. Push mowers don't seem to wake my squirrels, let alone the neighbors. Now, if you're the type to resent that extra few minutes picking up twigs every week or two then you really shouldn't own a push mower, so know yourself well enough to go click elsewhere. No matter what brand you get you'd need to clean up your lawn before use. This is a GREAT brand for a push mower, if you can appreciate one even though there is a little extra work with them.
