Orioles Using It and My Hummingbirds are Fighting over their New Feeder
By JMFDC on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2024
Edited: An oriole couple arrived March 20th and are using the feeder in turns. , I have 4 glass feeders (3 cups size) that are well used by our local hummingbirds (Costas, Anna's and Rufous/Allens) for many years. I bought this one to feed the local orioles who were attracted last year by the hummingbird sized feeders. I put out the feeder 3 weeks early, and my hummers loved their new feeder. It is easy to clean and fill from the top. It has attachments for a slice of fruit and a cup of jelly - I'll put them on once I see an oriole. I can't speak to how durable it is. I added an ant guard cup above it, and it hangs from an apricot tree. Last year I tried 3 other types of oriole feeders and and all they did was attract flies, ants and bees!
