Excelent trimmer.

This is an excellent stringless trimmer with plastic cutter blades. NOTE: If you need a trimmer for detailed trimming AGAINST hard objects, like rocks, walls, etc., you want a trimmer with a string. The plastic blade on this trimmer disintegrates against objects but lasts a long time when used in open spaces. I bought it for open spaces, and it performs great, even in tall grass and weeds. I could not be more pleased. It is also compatible with two other Sun Joe 24volt products that I own. Additional note: I found these trimmer blades on Amazon. For a package of 100, they are only $21.99. They work perfect and are much more durable than the Sun Joe blades: FourShow 100Pcs Plastic Replacement Blades Compatible with STIHL Polycut 2-2 Polycut 3-2 Grass Trimmer FSA 45 FSA 57 FSE 52,Sun Joe 24V-GT10, Swift 40V

Great concept but cheaply made with a very weak electric motor.
By Scott P. Adams on Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2020
I decided to buy this because it's string less. I wanted to avoid the headaches and hassle of string trimmers. I have a corded Sun Joe pole saw that I am very pleased with. I purchased this without the benefit of any reviews as it is a new product. Upon opening the box my first impression was, I just bought something that screams light duty and looks and feels very cheaply made. It's a feather weight with a plastic shaft and a baby size motor that looks like it wouldn't survive a drop from 3 feet. At the $79 price point my expectations weren't super high but when I compare it to the pole saw I bought a few years back for about the same amount of money, quality wise there is no comparison. Assembly was very easy and the battery came almost fully charged. I went to work right away edging along my concrete patio which was very light grass and it was doing okay. A few minutes later I went after a little bit thicker grass in another part of the yard, the motor bogged down, I feathered the switch to compensate and then it started smoking from the motor, game over. It didn't stop working completely but you know what they say "once you let the smoke out you can never get it back in" Needless to say but I will be returning this item.
