How to pick up elusive, pesky, leaves in flower beds
By Tim Stone on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2025
My flower beds have light mulch in them, and leaves pile on top. Blowing the leaves didn't work, and raking gathered too much of the mulch. After discussing it with Greenworks, I ordered this leaf vac. It does the job as desired. It also grinds the leaves into very small bits, great for mulching. The unit is bulky, and heavy, but suitable for the task at hand. This model uses dual 24v batteries, but you can also get one with a single 40v. I had no problem with run time. The batteries had plenty of charge left after finishing the work. Also I was using it on thick piles of leaves. Although it has wheels, I found when using it on the mulched areas, it was best to hold the opening flat over the leaves. I own lots of Greenworks tools, and their quality, and support, have always been excellent.

Caution - current batteries DON'T FIT wouldn't buy again
By Just another IT guy on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2023
BLUF: if don't buy batteries and charger with this product and expect other greenworks batteries to work you may be displeased and regret sticking with greenworks products too. Poor information about what batteries will fit the new blower. Many days of reading information.ation listed on Amazon about greenworks blowers and the reviews. One key missing item is "most" existing 40v greenworks batteries appear to have correct form factor but just doesn't fit. Have 5 other greenworks battery powered tools and all work with the 40v batteries. Been using green works yard tools since 2010 and they have done the job needed. Greenworks tools each feel intended for light personal use, can make great amounts of work happen, must expect even with the greatest care when using and storing that many will need custom "fixes" for weak connecting points and expect the non-critical plastic parts to crack but not so bad since no real exposure to electrical components and I do not use in wet/damp weather. I really don't like returning items I choose to purchase unless flat out don't function or arrived damaged. Bought the blower to replace one used the past few years after the blower motor hiccuped twice right before puffing out a little blue smoke and blowing stopped. Bummed but knew I could get a replacement blower and have 6 good greenworks batteries. Again, this part upsets me because I looked and looked at the product info before purchasing the new blower without battery. I'm not into creating more green e-waste. Greenworks seems less concerned about creating more e-waste than needed. I wouldn't have chosen a model of blower that would require me to make room for another charger then buy a new supply of batteries for a one off unit. Yes, I placed blower right back in box just as it arrived, in good but useless condition without also buying a new formfactor of charger and battery. Still kicking around returning this blower but if I do I will no longer be buying any greenworks products that I found so very useful and convenient to use. Many batteries that fit all the products is a strong selling point. If I need to double and have a mix of batteries and chargers for greenworks tools then I don't see the point in being loyal to a lower quality product that does do the job. Expecting greenworks (or seller) to write the standard post in reply to this review stating something that looks like support to others reading the reviews but then that's the last "contact" from them for their product and I'm stuck with the useless item. PS there is a possibility that if clearly written about battery compatibility and see hope of future products that will leverage this for years to come that I may have accepted that another battery formfactor and charger that isn't compatible with their other current products is something I can slowly migrate to as I replace systems. Buying them later finding the batteries are not compatible is UNSAT!
