Cheap battery charger

By Nifty on Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2024

Model: Greenworks 24V cordless brushless axial leaf blower (110 MPH, 450 CFM) with 4.0Ah battery + charger After unboxing the unit, I decided to charge the battery before first use. After plugging in the charger (with NO battery connected yet), the fan inside of the charger started making a loud, high-pitched squeal. After putting the battery on the charger, the squealing got louder. After about 10 minutes, I unplugged the charger because I couldn't stand the noise it was making. The battery was very warm for only having been charged for 10 minutes. After doing a little research online, it seems that high-pitched squealing is a symptom of a cheap fan, and is a common problem with rapid chargers from many different manufacturers. Product returned, would NOT recommend this product, nor the manufacturer. I was concerned about how long the unit would last if it works like crap right out of the box. I won't be purchasing another Greenworks product again. To replace this product, I purchased an EGO Power+ LB6504 (with 5Ah battery + charger). It was more money than I wanted to spend (~$300, on sale), but the charger's fan is quiet, the battery stays much cooler, and I haven't noticed anything wrong with it after 3 weeks of light use.

Powerful and easy to use

By Alvin Kitamura on Reviewed in the United States on August 8, 2023

The unit arrived quickly and was very simple to assemble. The battery was not fully charged so I used another battery I had from a different tool to test it out. It was simple to understand and very easy to use. The blower is fairly light and easy to maneuver, and with the turbo feature, it takes care of grass and leaves from ten to fifteen feet away. It's the best way to take care of removing leaves and other rubbish from under bushes and shrubbery, as well as blowing away grass and leaves from rock beds and other difficult, uneven surfaces. It's been a big timesaving unit and I use it on a weekly basis and makes taking care of the yard much easier to do.
