Works great, sprayer needs to be lower than backpack in order to adequately draw
By Gear Guru! on Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2023
First off, this thing works great, I was a little hesitant based on some of the reviews I read, so when I received this, I immediately started testing. Turns out that when you're wearing the backpack, the natural tendency of the arm is to bring the sprayer up to about the level that the draw hose is - thus causing feed issues, loud sputtering, and a bad or non-existent spray pattern coming out. The simple SOLUTION is to let your arm hang down all the way to ensure the sprayer is lower than the backpack OR just hold the 1 gallon container in your other hand, while spraying, to ensure it's always higher than the sprayer. Once I figured this out, I treated my property (probably 1000 linear feet) with water/permethrin spray, and this sprayer performed beautifully. Yes it's a little finicky potentially, however, that's the nature of gravity and the fact that there isn't a pump in the backpack as well. Honestly, for this price and this performance, I'm extremely happy. Go for it and buy this!

This is not a good product for disinfecting with certain products (bleach, peroxide)
By Merrill A. on Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2020
I am still in the middle of escalating my concern about this product. Advertised as useful for disinfecting, it's not until you receive the product and read the fine print that it becomes clear that you can't use bleach, peroxide, and many other CDC and EPA products for preventing spread of COVID-19. Had I not read every word, I would have used my products and destroyed this machine. This seems like it was designed for gardening and switched over quickly to market during the pandemic. There should be very clear information before buying about products that work or SHOULD NOT be used with it. The first person I spoke with at Ryobi put me on hold, then came back and told me it was fine to use with hydrogen peroxide. When I told her I had read it wasn't ok, she asked me where that was in the brochure and then said "oh, then it must not be ok." I've not escalated to account managers and the VP of sales. I really feel that this was poorly advertised and not an appropriate tool for disinfecting at all. UPDATE: My issue is with the marketing of the product. I have received a lot of support directly from Ryobi and think this will work out in the end. They had to check the specific content of the disinfectant I was using and it will be fine.
