It really works really good and I’ll recommend it to anybody. It works really good and I had no problems with it.

No to backlight, yes to batteries required.

The listing for this thermostat says it has a backlight, it does not. If you want to change the setting at night have a flashlight handy. The listing also states that no batteries are required. Yes, batteries are required, two AAA. I have ordered two of these thermostats thinking the backlight was bad on the first one. When there was no backlight on the second thermostat, I arrived at the conclusion this particular model does not have an aluminated screen. The thermostat itself functions properly but it does not have separate settings for Saturday and Sunday.
