Amazing and worth the money. The best customer service I have ever experienced!
By BW on Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2022
We bought the Farm 24XL. Setup was fairly easy. We took our time and encountered no real problems. Our kit came with very old , expired seed pods, We used chat to contact customer service. It was a horrible. The rep wanted proof of purchase before replacing my ancient pods. I asked for the customer service phone number. What a difference! The phone rep immediately offered to replace the expired pods. She also gave me great advice on using the Farm. OPERATION There is more to this than you might think. Once set up, the Farm will remind you to add plant food every two weeks. Here's the part that many people ignore: EVERY MONTH DRAIN AND RINSE. Minerals from the plant food will concentrate and reduce yield or kill plants. Every month at feeding time, empty the bowls. This is easy to do. On the screen go to extras and keep looking until you find "Drain." It will walk you through the process. There is a tube included with the Farm. In the center of each bowl, there is a rubber cover. If you open it, you will see a nipple. Connect the hose to it and put the other end in a bucket. Start the pump in drain mode. It will empty the bowl. When empty, fill it with water and pump that water out. Fill it again and add food. It's a lot easier to do than write about. We are very happy with our new Farm 24XL. We are even happier with customer service. With something this expensive and new, it's important to have help available. Aerogarden provides excellent support. They will replace any pods that don't germinate. They will help you become a successful hydroponic farmer. Just remember to avoid the Chat and use the phone.

Solid build/quality, questionable quality control/non fuctional app
By Hyperion on Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2022
Ok, first of all, let me say that this is a quality built product, solid. But, there are issues. First of all, quality control. I had a hard time getting this together because the holes on the 2 stands were badly misaligned with the holes on the hood. There was no way you could get the screws in because of this. I had to take a drill bit that is made for enlarging holes and enlarge the holes in the stand so that it was possible to get the screws in, otherwise it would be impossible. I took pic, maybe I will post later, but his was clearly a machining problem, the holes are very sloppily drilled, not even round at all and way off center. Now they should have easity caught this, but they didn't, so poor quality control on a lose to $1000 item. Next, the app does not work, at all. You cannot even log into it, let alone do anything with it. By far the majority of recent reviews of the app on Google Play are 'Does not work', and it does not, so that feature is completely useless. I'll wait until I start using it and then update my review. Well, this is not going well. Not only does the app or WiFi not work, the pump does not work on either side, so the unit is practically worthless. I have contacted them and waiting for a reply. *update* Received the replacement pump control unit from Aerogarden. Did not work, I still have an expensive unit in which a key feature, the pump, does not work for either side. *update - 3/18* Aergardnen contacted me and said they are not wending a replacement top. I asked them why they think that might be a solution? Everything works except for the pump. It seems odd. I reminded them that I only have like 10 days to initiate a replace or refund with Amazon. We will see what happens... After going back and forth with Aerogarden since I bought this, it still doses not work. I think that Amazon owes me a replacement unit even though it's past 30 days. *update * - 5/5/2022 After Aerogardend shipped me a new top and 2 new reservoir tanks, I was able to get everything working. Apparently the top was defective and it appears that one of the tanks was also defective. The unit when working seems to be doing very well, I have a LOT of little orange cherry tomatoes on and one of my peppers is full of blooms. I'm going to upgrade my review to a 4. I would give it a 5 if not for all the problems I initially had. The unit itself is 5, customer service was good, but a little slow to reslove the issue. If I could do a 4.5 I would. *Final Update* Well, I would definitely leave this as a 4. There customer service is weird to say the least. After giving up on them being able to fix this unit, the both pumps, I decided to ask Amazon for a refund, but then I got 2 pumps working, one I already had and one replacement they gave me. So I cancelled the return and told Aerogarden that all was well. That was on May 1. I did not hear anything from them at all, and then all of the sudden a box from them shows up at my house on May 7? It was another top. What? So I asked them why they sent it? I emailed them again and tried to talk to them and they did not answer me for like a week. And when they did, it was sort of bizzarre, like they do not want to talk to you and like they think they are some sort of elite mega company who are so far above you, they cannot be bothered with you, lol. Its almost like it's all automated replies. What they told me was 'We don't take unsolicited questions'. What? I think I don't have to buy anything else from you and am now moving this review back to a 1. After this, I will not be dealing with them anymore and will try one of their competitors, iHarvest.

I absolutely love my AeroGarden Harvest XL! It's the perfect addition to my kitchen, allowing me to grow fresh herbs and vegetables all year round. The setup was incredibly easy, and the instructions were clear and concise. The system is also very low maintenance, with the built-in LED lights and self-watering system doing all the work for me. The plants grow quickly and are incredibly healthy, with no need for pesticides or herbicides. The variety of pods available to choose from is fantastic, and I love being able to customize my garden to fit my needs. The AeroGarden Harvest XL is also very sleek and stylish, and it fits perfectly on my countertop. Overall, I would highly recommend the AeroGarden Harvest XL to anyone who loves fresh herbs and vegetables but doesn't have the space or time for a traditional garden. It's truly a game-changer and has exceeded all of my expectations.
QUALITY!!! Worth the extra money.

They are expensive, but work SO dang well; and the components (eg. lights and water pump) are reasonably priced to replace; and easy for users to replace themselves. It says ALOT that Aerogarden owners vastly repurchase Aerogarden models for additional purchases! There are a lot of reasons to try indoor gardening: food security, BEAUTY!, growing impossible to buy locally ethnic specialties (eg. bittermelon) in a smaller town, having fresh produce in the Winter, getting a head start for outdoor planting; and oh my-just picked at its peak of ripeness ANYTHING is just superb. I love the two separate tanks-nutrients can be optimized for the type of plants on each side, AND the lights are individually moveable to maximize light for each side! The only way it can be improved is by offering mounts for a fan and for tool (scissors, "be the bee" brush, etc.) Again, its expensive, but just works perfectly; and if I had limitless money and space I would have an entire room full of wonderful Farm XLs!

So far it's working well. There are flaws to be aware of.

First, the good: - The pods germinated well and things are growing quite nicely. The unit works. I'm looking forward to starting to be able to harvest some lettuce and in a month or so some herbs. - The display is quite nice, though there are a few things about the user interface that aren't obvious, such as how to raise and lower the lights. Once I looked up how to do it, it's pretty easy. - The unit tracks when you need to add water and/or fertilizer and tells you. I find that helpful. It also provides tips which may be helpful. Some flaws: - This is not easy to assemble. The screw holes really don't line up well and it took a lot longer than it should to get things right. I had to loosen and tighten at various points to finally get things to properly line up and even then I had to apply an undue amount of force. - One of the plastic covers for storage had a broken piece that prevents it from hinging properly. This isn't a serious problem, but it seems like it should have been noticed by quality control. - Customer support just plain doesn't provide support. When I asked for a replacement for the broken plastic cover, I never got a response. I couldn't find any way other than their web site to file my issue. That site promised a response within 2 days and after about 2 weeks I still haven't heard from them. All in all, I gave it 4 starts because, once assembled, it works well. I knocked a star off for terrible support. My recommendation to any purchasers is if there's anything wrong with the unit beyond a minor issue, just send it back to Amazon since AeroGarden support will likely also ignore you.
Game changer for our family

I can't say enough good things about this garden. After spending a few years on a remote Alaskan island, it became critical to our family to be able to grow produce indoors. Now that we're in Virginia and approaching Winter, it is still just as important during COVID-19 times. I have two young children with a third on the way and getting out to stores often just isn't feasible and grocery delivery does not always provide the best produce. We are growing lettuce, tomato, and herbs in this system and will be able to save so much money in addition to limiting our family's exposure to the season's flu and colds. The garden is designed very well with two separate water basins and light systems, allowing us to grow a variety of plants with different needs. The pods were extremely easy to plant and the touchscreen panel allows me to see at a quick glance how high the water level is and how soon I will need to add plant food, which came with the system. As our plants grow and I add the magnetic trellis for the tomato plants, I will update more pictures. All in all, I am in love with this garden and truly look forward to what it will bring to our family!

I love my aero garden! It's very easy to set up and use. You can do just basic functions or get more detailed and control your water pH. I started with a combination of pods that were pre-planted and then some that I planted myself and everything has sprouted and is growing wonderfully. I've enjoyed some amazing salads and I love being able to go over and pick herbs when I need them or know that my lettuce is fresh because it's ready to pick whenever I want it. Bought stuff to make tacos and didn't get it done last week. If I had purchased lettuce at the grocery store it would not be good by now. I can still make delicious tacos because my lettuce is still growing and ready when I am. I bought the seed starter kit and can't wait to sprout flowers for spring to fill my planter boxes on my new deck.

I am trying to give good reviews for products that I find that have quality, and are confident in their ability to preform the task they were designed for. The aero garden is a complete hydroponic system that you can very easily submerse yourself into and not have to deal with all the nuances of maintaining it. Firstly it is extremely expensive and likely not worth the money unless you plan on using it consistently. I think most of the products that are smaller are better used as a nursery. The roots get too big and the plants too high for some of the smaller hydroponic systems. I was fortunate enough to purchase the extra large size and have maintained it as directed. All the plants that I received were able to sprout. I used filtered water that I filtered myself. I maintain the pH of the water every 3 to 4 weeks. I used the aero garden liquid plant food put out with miracle grow (it came with it). Plants will start tender on the acidic side overtime you would have to add a base. The lighting is timed so I don’t have to worry about burning the plants. There’s a water pump that circulates the water. There is a two week reminder for when I need to add the plant food. In short my impression is that is quality product priced pretty high. But I also think it’s the best that is out there. A person could make their own far cheaper but would not have the luxury of keeping a reduced space and consistent lighting schedule a monitor to make sure there’s enough water and a reminder of when to add the Nutrients without sticking in just about as much money. My overall impression is that if you can do it on your own and are dedicated enough to making it work then go purchase the items yourself PVC pipe etc. But if you’re anxious about not being able to piece it all together accurately enough. Then this product will help you. I work all day long I will cook when I get home for myself and my kid. And I still have available herbs and lettuce that is fresh without having to dedicate more of my day towards that. For me it’s worth it. I know after having experienced this product I would be able to maintain one that I made myself because the experience that this has given me. This is really made growing plants easy.
Beautiful and productive garden

This garden is expensive, but I wanted something nice looking for growing up in our living area and liked some of the higher tech features, so I sprung for it. One of the high-tech features, however, did not work in my new garden. The lights on one side do not lower and raise as they are supposed to. I posted a question here about how to get it fixed and instead of answering it, the seller told me to send the question of how to get it fixed through their website. Fair enough. I did so. So far, their first reply would indicate to me that they didn't even read my email and just assumed I didn't know what I was doing. This is doubly frustrating, since I am not the only one with this problem. They seem t have a quality control issue related to the light fixtures. They sent me instructions on how to operate the lights rather than acknowledging that I told them the product was defective. I am sending back another email today and will update my review based on their response. So far not happy. (See updated response below. Happy now) The good news is that, if it worked properly, I think I would really like it. Assembly had a few minor frustrations with screw holes not lining up properly, but I was able to get it together without too many issues. In general, documentation could be a lot better, but it can be figured out working through the problems. Because I had set everything up and planted it before attempting to lower the lights (which is both a natural progression and as indicated in their garden setup instructions), I left it setup while trying to get this problem solved. Nearly all the seeds germinated withing a few days and are growing. This is always a bit of a miracle to me and I love watching it. Hoping to get problem resolved without having to let my new little garden die. Update to above. Customer support promptly responded and sent me a new hood that now works properly. Yay! I updated my overall rating accordingly. They didn’t make me send back the previous one first, so my garden is still thriving. Thanks! I am really enjoying it and have harvested several fresh lettuce crops fairly quickly! Awesome!
